Thankfully, he made it to a hotel in a suburb of Des Moines, IA and started searching for a repair shop with the hope that the car could be fixed the next day. Tuffy in Ankeny was able to fit him in for an appointment, did a very thorough review of the problem, did a lot of troubleshooting and even connected with our mechanic in St Paul to review the recent history of the car. My son said that all the employees in the shop made "a college age kid as comfortable as possible" during his first experience with car trouble on a cross country trip. After several hours in the shop, they fixed the car and my son was on the road again. He finished his 14 hour trip with no other issues. Thanks so much Tuffy! We will be forever thankful. And will use your shop again if we happen to need it as we drive through Des Moines!

My daughter, a college student, had a minor issue with her car and was... read more My daughter, a college student, had a minor issue with her car and was afraid she could not drive it back home to the Twin Cities. She stopped in and Doug put her car on the lift and resolved the issue well enough for her to get home. He did this on the spot and didn't ask my daughter to pay anything. Doug went above and beyond what my daughter expected and what I was hoping for and I will be a client as long as my daughter is in Ames. It would have been very easy for Doug to take advantage of someone that has absolutely no knowledge of vehicles but instead he helped her out of a jam and expected nothing in return. I would recommend Doug and Tuffy Tire & Auto to everyone who is looking for an honest repair shop that does great work. Joel from Minnesota.
