ENGINE REPAIR
I TOOK A CAR TO AMERICAN AUTOBODY AND REPAIR PER A RECOMMENDATION. I ASKED THEM TO FIND OUT WHAT THE NOISE WAS IN THE ENGINE ON 2/29/2012. THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATE WAS 500.00. I WAS TOLD IF I HAD THE CAR FIXED THERE MY TOWEING WOULD BE FREE. [NOT] AFTER A COUPLE MONTHS WENT BY I NEVER HEARD FROM THEM. NO PHONE CALLS NO CONTACT WITH ME. I WENT THERE WITH MY SONS AND DAUGHTER IN LAW IN APRIL 20,2012 AND THE MAN WHO WAS THERE WAS TELLING ME IT WOULD COST ME 7000.00 DOLLARS TO FIX THE ENGINE AS IT NEEDED A LONG BLOCK. I TOLD THEM TO LOOK AROUND. THEN THEY SAID IT WOULD BE ANOTHER COUPLE OF MONTHS. IN OR ABOUT MAY I TALKED TO CAMERON AND TOLD THEM TO JUST PUT THE CAR BACK TOGETHER. THEY SAID THEY FIXED THE LIFTERS , CHARGED THE BATTERY, CHANGED THE FLUIDS. CHAIN TENSIONER EGL HEAD SET, CHAIN GUIDE,SMOGGED THE CAR WHICH PASSED, GAS FILTER, RE SURFACED VALVE JOB. THIS TOTAL CAME TO 2245.00 DOLLARS. THE NOISE IN THE ENGINE WAS STILL THERE. THESE PEOPLE COULDNT LOOK ME IN THE EYE WHEN THEY TALKED TO ME. I FIANALLY GOT MY CAR BACK IN MAY 2012. THIS IS NOT I SAY NOT A PLACE I WOULD RECCOMEND TO ANY ONE. AND WILL NEVER GO TO THEM AGAIN. THEY ARE CROOKS AND I' LL TELL YOU WHY. I FOUND A MECHANIC THAT IS WORKING ON MY CAR NOW AND FOR A LONG BLOCK I'M ONLY BEING CHARGED 1750.00 DOLLARS. WHERE DID 7000.00 DOLLARS COME FROM. CROOKS I SAY CROOKS. LIKE THE GENTLE MAN BEFORE ME SAID " HOW CAN THESE PEOPLE BE IN BUSINESS". IF YOU READ THIS PLEASE DON'T GO THERE. NOT A GOOD BUSINESS AT ALL.

I am a business owner in the Corona area. I dropped off my truck to get some frame work done to my truck-BIG MISTAKE. I dropped it off on a friday because, and im quoting, "sure, we have room for you today". I dropped it off and the OWNER assured me it would be done by Saturday morning THE LATEST. I came on Saturday to pick up my car in the morning because I needed to smog it, well the guy hadn't even started. This wasn't bad, I understood that shops get busy and they didn't have time to start working on it. Well, then the owner told me he would have it done by the end of the day. I did not get a phone call that day. On Moday I called to ask about my truck, and again, quoting the owner "my frame guy who HAD BEEN WORKING ON THE TRUCK went out for lunch, it will be done by the end of the day" I STILL DID NOT GET A PHONE CALL. So I called and he said it would be done tomorrow (Tuesday) by 11am. I went there on TUESDAY afternoon to check on them because the guy hadn't called me. What was my surprise, THEY HADN'T EVEN STARTED WORKING ON THE TRUCK. The owner left me there to talk to his workers and DID NOT COME BACK OUT. He was probably embarassed about the fact that he had been leading me on all this time and just plain lying to me. Now, I don't understand why he couldn't just tell me that it was going to take some time before they fixed my truch or maybe call me to tell me they were too busy for me. On top of that, we had already agreed on $500 for the repair. So if nobody had worked on it on Monday, but he promised it to me on Tuesday 11am, he was trying to charge me 500 FOR THREE HRS OF LABOR. He had told me it was $65/hr but he planned on charging me over $150/hr. Can you believe the nerve and shadyness of this guy? I can't complain about his workers, they seemed nice and their work seemed ok to, but who knows how much this individual might be overcharging his customers. How can people like this be in business? are you freaking kidding me? MY RECOMMENDATION? DOO NOOO
