VW Repair and Service
I recently decided to repair the AC system on my daughter's VW GTI -- which needed new components like the compressor, drier, and expansion valves. I replaced the parts myself, but I first went to Dave, the owner of Empire Sport West, to have him evacuate the system and recycle the used refrigerant, R134a, in an environmentally responsible way. Dave recharged the system after I had swapped in the new for the old components, and then he fully checked the system for leaks -- all was in order and fully functional after his work. I don't regularly write reviews but I am doing it this time because Dave went above and beyond what I asked for with the evacuation and recharging. He provided tips about how to remove some of the parts and what might have been the initial failure in the AC system. His information was spot on. Dave also was extremely kind, patient, and very reasonable in his pricing. He struck me as honest to his core, and he is the type of person we'd all like to have as a mechanic -- very capable and trustworthy.
