In 1971, Ed’s Garage opened for business in Sonoma, CA as a one-bay shop with Ed Ristad working on VW Bugs. William Murray came on as a managing partner in 1985, with a 14-year background in construction as a carpenter and general contractor. In his new role, William designed and helped facilitate an addition to the garage, enlarging it to eight bays and five lifts. This expansion made Ed’s Garage the largest independent auto repair facility in the Sonoma Valley.
William transitioned quickly into the automotive repair industry, becoming a master mechanic, diagnostician, and service advisor. In 1995, he took over ownership of the business and changed the name to Ed & William’s Garage. Then, after purchasing the property in 2008, the business became William’s Auto Care. To date, William’s Auto Care continues to be the largest and oldest auto repair shop in the Sonoma Valley, carrying forward a long tradition of impeccable customer service and strong community involvement.

Auto Repair and Maintenance
I had a long time mechanic who passed away. I was referred to Williams Auto Care and will be a long time customer. They are fantastic. Fair in pricing, detailed in their work and customer oriented!. They identified future work, but did not proceed with the work!! I appreciate that. They will get all my business.
