I found that he did a great job and was very good. I have a knowledge of auto repair and he was thorough and fixed the problem very fast and reasonably priced. I would recommend him to friends and family.

Diagnosis
Barry was prompt, but useless. I had an overheat in a Chevy Astro which was towed there (Running Bear Tow Truckee suggested that was the best option). He "had his mechanic mate out back check it out" who was a complete jerk. Barry and his mate informed me that I had a blown head gasket, cracked radiator and a broken thermostat, all of which would amount to some insane amount of money. His mate (ken, maybe? ran another shop out the back) proceeded to offer me $100 for the van. Wreckers had advised me they would buy it for $450-600 depending on condition. I had it towed to a place in Reno (thank god for aaa plus towing service) who determined that all 3 of those parts were fine, and that it was the heater core that needed replacement, and the inlet manifold was damaged. Still a costly repair but nowhere near as much as they had said, and not even the same problems. Wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.
