John J. Placzkowski Jr., the founder of Clay County Transmission had an idea. An idea that is not very common in the automotive repair industry: Quality work at a fair price. So in June of 1988, John and his wife Michelle began as a locally owned and operated business providing top quality transmission repair. In the transmission industry for more than 30 years, John began as a swamper (sweeping floors and cleaning up) in the 1970's. After working for all the major franchises he and Michelle decided to step out on their own. So with a playpen in the office and his knowledge of the transmission business, John and Michelle started what has become one of the largest and most reputable transmission businesses in Northeast Florida.

Auto Repair and Maintenance
Honesty! I have found Clay County Transmissions to be reliable and honest. I have had repairs done when needed and the techs have told me when I didn't need repairs. The repairs have always been done well and the follow up is included. I have not found a more honest or reputable establishment. I will return to Clay Count Transmission when I need work again.
