That was just the labor. You basically unplug, and then plug in (the replacement computer, which I supplied), so needless to say the cost was quite high. The car broke down in about 50 miles. After a hefty, $225.00 tow back to their shop, they replaced the crank sensor, which they said they checked on the original repair. Gordon, the manager, then hit me with a bill of nearly $450.00 to replace a part that costs (retail) about $80.00. They had me over a barrel, so I had no choice but to pay the bill. Never again. If you want to be treated like a second class citizen, and be grossly overcharged for simple repairs, by all means go to Elite Motor Works. Don't say you weren't forewarned when this type of thing happens to you.

There is a new owner who assured me he was a good Saab mechanic then told me all I needed was a change of spark plugs and filters. He also told me he had done diagnostics and everything was fine. He also changed out a worn strut. He charged over $800. Two weeks later I broke down in the middle of University when I came to a stop light with the same error message. I had it towed to another shop and they replaced the sensor for $150 and works great now. The previous owner was a great Saab mechanic but not this new guy.
