My car was making a bad noise when braking. The technician diagnosed the problem the brake shoes had come loose scrapping the rotor. The brake hose was upside down. The ball joints were bad. The control arms were bad. There is also an oil pan leak. The technician ordered the part and did the work that I authorized. I am back driving safely. It drives good.

I had an oil change and tire rotation. The found a bad tie rod so they ordered the part and put it on the next day. It had to have a realignment also. When I got in the car the next morning my ! For tire air was on. I went back to plaza and the guy put air in them. Very inconvenient for me. I don't understand why the air was not done the last 2 days prior when it was already there. They just need to be more thorough. Maybe have management check them before contacting customers to pick them up and make sure EVERYTHING WAS DONE CORRECTLY.

I'm from Michigan and visiting the area to be with a relative having surgery early a.m at nearby hospital. One of my tires was quickly going seriously flat. I'm new to the area but found Plaza Tire Service nearby just as the store was opening for the day. Fortunately, the service desk tech understood my need to be at the hospital. My front drivers side wheel was reel hot after a 5mile ride. My whole braking system was bad in the front end of my 2002 Chevy Silverado. Tire Plaza got me in the next morning as soon as they could which I’m thinking why it was a bit expensive but now I can drive 5.5 hours back home feeling safe.

I usually take my CRV to Cape Honda for all serving but decided to go local for this oil change, general check-up and possible alignment adjustment. I got in quickly and they seemed thorough. They were not willing/able to change an overhead light bulb tho.

I stop by to check the air pressure on my tires only and I was told that my two front tires were extremely bad and we were facing this one’s in a lifetime ice blizzard. So I purchased two new tires and they were extremely busy at the time but they got it in the next morning right before the storm hit literally right before. I called and he said it was because of the tire protection plan, but I did not choose this extra plan. The o ring was left on the filter thread and the car leaked oil very badly due to the double o ring with the new filter and smelled burning oil. I did take the car back and that is what they found, they did fix it and washed off the under carriage of the car. The car still does smell of the burning off oil and the back of the vehicle is a mess with the blow off all over the rear bumper and window. I will need to hand wash it due to the amount of oil. Was told I would be called when my tire was ready for pick up. Never received a call. Three days later I called the shop and the tube had not been ordered. Had to wait three more days for the tube to arrive. Ten days later I picked up my tire. Customer service here does not exist. This is not the first time this has occurred when I don't receive a call that my truck, tire, etc. is ready. This needs to be addressed. I do all my tire business at this facility and some things need to change.

Scheduled to have tires rotated as manager requested, by scheduling appointment manager stated they would get me in and out. Arrived five minutes before appointment time, car was not taken into shop for 20 minutes. Once in shop which I had been observing since arrival, employees did not appear overly busy, employee working on my car made several trips back and forth in the shop and not staying and just finishing rotation. Car was in shop for approximately 25 minutes. Employees had no drive to get job done. All the times I have had tires rotated once started it took no longer then 15 minutes anywhere else. When I purchased tires I scheduled no appointment and was in and out in 45 minutes. It is apparent once they sale the tires at this store it is not important to continue on with the same service. Carbondale store last time this store would not get me in again when not all that busy without an appointment, as when I arrived at Carbondale store which was extremely busy had me in and out in 40 minutes. I also observed how they worked there, these employees hustled and once car was in they stayed on the car and were done in less then 15 minutes. Why schedule an appointment? My next purchase of tires will probably go back to Raben Tires although store is not as conveniently located.

I have a 2004 Nissan 350Z with about 36K miles on it, which I purchased new. Other than oil changes, none of the fluids in the car had been changed. I also had some TPM sensor issues. The guys at Plaza Tire replaced all of the fluids in the car, including brake fluid, replaced the 4 original TPM sensors and bled the brakes. The work was completed professionally in one day. While none of this work is readily noticeable while driving the car, Rich McPherson (the Manager) kept me apprised of the work and and I am pleased with the work. I brought my car in for an 8am appointment to fix a bad wheel bearing on a Tuesday. I was told in addition to the wheel bearing I needed a new rotor and brake pad on that wheel as well. I was told it would be about a 2 hour job. Shortly after I was then told it would take closer to 4 hours and asked if I could come back to pick it up later in the afternoon, which I could not due to not having a ride and having to go to work. The manager offered to give me a ride home which was nice. I explained I was unable to pick up my car the next day, and was told no problem, it will be ready Thursday morning. My wife dropped me off Thursday morning and I was told that my car wasn't ready and they were waiting on a part (wheel speed sensor) to arrive. My car had been there 48 hours at that point. After waiting an hour and a half the part arrives and is put on but I'm told there's now an issue with the ABS system they need to diagnose and fix. At this point I cannot wait any longer as I have to go to work now. I understand sometimes you don't know how long or exactly what work needs done until starting a repair, but this was one surprise after another. A phone call to inform me my car wasn't finished and they were waiting on a part would have been nice. It seems they don't like you to stay in store and wait for your vehicle, I guess so they can work at their own pace and get the small jobs done first? I've done business here for a long time and had several vehicles serviced and repaired here; most experiences have been positive but this one was quite frustrating.

Agent up-charged by lying to indicate more expensive tires would damage my car. The agent claimed that my car needed more expensive tires that were “low ride resistance” and that without them it would damage my car because it is partially an electric car. What the agent meant may have means was low rolling resistance. He was also not correct that less expensive tires would damage the car. Such tires might reduce the range of the car but not damage it. When I questioned the agent on how I could see to resistance metric for the various tires they have, he claimed it was something he just knew. When I asked about why/how the tires would damage the car, he just repeated over and over again that it was because it was an electric car. He did not seem to have any further knowledge, or was caught in a lie and was being defensive. Honesty, trust, and knowledge are key factors in deciding where to service my car long-term. My experience left me feeling cheated and manipulated. I don’t mind paying a bit more for better tires. I do mind being manipulated into paying more for better tires. With the poor sales interactions aside the shop did a good job quickly installing new tires and performing an alignment. The ride on the new tires is nice. However, with the poor sales experience, I probably will not return for service here for some time.

I had a very good experience. I called to get a quote for a 15 inch rim for my daughters 2005 Ford Focus. I received a call back the following day that the rim was in. I brought her car in same day. My husband and I have been customers of Plaza for many years. First Carbondale,IL because of Rob and then he moved to Murphysboro and so did we. Now Rob is a district employee and is not at the location however we still have our basic oil change and tire rotation done there. My husband is a stroke victim and I take care of the service now. The guys at Plaza know this. At the recent service, I was told I needed rear brakes on my 2009 Lincoln MKS.y The quote was around $700 and I was told the left rear caliper was sticking causing the problem and they would replace that caliper, both pads and rotors. I talked this over with my husband and he wanted me to check with our other local mechanic. I did not tell him the cost quoted to me but asked him how much that would cost at his shop. He couldn't give me an exact amount, which I understand, however the estimated quote was $250 less. I called Rich at Plaza and told him we had decided to have work done with our previous mechanic. As it turned out both calipers were replaced and brake pads not rotors (they weren’t bad) Had Plaza done the work they would have discovered the other caliper needed changing also. I don't know how much they would have charged but I'm sure it would have been at least $100 probably more. This experience has caused me to feel less than confident that they were honest with me. I am considering another option for my regular oil changes and new tires. We have 2 cars, a pick up, a mower, 4 wheeler, and small utility tractor that all have tires. I had a flat and was worried about getting it repaired, but I knew I needed my car. Very good service. Quick. COVID -19 compliant. They let me stay in my car the whole time, well over 6 ft between us, most of the time much further. Paid over my phone. Awesome!

the service was great problem was fixed truck drives and breaks fine now . But I asked the counter guy too have the tires rotated and he did not put it on the work order so I was out of my work truck most of the day now too get them rotated ill have to be out of my truck another day

Went to Plaza to have oil changed and tires rotated. Next day I noticed hubcap was missing; thought maybe it was not put back on. Called Plaza tire and inquired if hubcap was accidently left off. They did not have it. I cannot help but wonder if maybe it was not put back on securely. Have been client for several years and will continue to have work done there. Rob has always helpful and friendly.

I purchased a tire a couple of months ago but realized I needed to replace all the tires, including my spare tire. So I purchased 4 more and requested the recently purchased tire be put in the trunk, as the new spare. I paid for this, went to work where I looked into the trunk and discovered they did not put the recently purchased tire in my trunk. I called the store and the man who answered verified they had the tire I just needed to come in and they will put it on as the spare. So, I schedule it, came in and during this visit I ask if they would put on a wiper blade I had purchased. I got the tire after waiting an hour but they say the wiper blade did not fit but they could sell me one for $21.00. I did not buy it When I got to my destination I read the instructions for the wiper and put it on my vehicle. The wiper fit. Did they lie to me or do they just not know how to put on the wiper blade. This was not a good visit. I could have lost my tire and could have paid for another wiper blade I did not need.
