I WANT TO RECANT MY PREVIOUS STATEMENT - they are theives!!!
I am Kevin, and on 2/20/12 i had just purchased my 99 ford Taurus from STANDARD AUTO ON CHICAGO ROAD AND SAUK TRAIL. for me the car was all of 10 hours old. approx. 2 weeks after my praise for standard auto was posted - the car broke down due to an engine block crack. when i asked Steve to do something about the fact he knowingly sold me a bad car - he refused. Steve, Sue and all of the staff at standard auto give you their very best until you have paid for and driven your car off their lot - after that - you are nothing to them. This man and his band of merry thieves will take your money and ignore the problem they caused. i officially RECANT my previous praise of Standard Auto! BUYERS BEWARE OF STANDARD AUTO SALES - if you buy from them you will be back on the bus with me!

WILL SELL U A LEMON - DONT BUY HERE!!
WHAT EVER YOU DO, DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM STANDARD AUTO ON THE CORNER OF CHICAGO ROAD AND SAUK TRAIL IN SOUTH CHICAGO HEIGHTS!!! Steve the owner is a liar and a thief - he sold me a '99 Ford Taurus, which broke down with a cracked engine block only after 2 weeks of service. He flat out refused to refund my hard earned money, whining that he made no money on the deal. I paid cash in full for that car and yet I still do not have the title because he has not paid the taxes on the car, and that is per the Secretary of State! No legitimate car dealer fails to pay state taxes for the cars they sell - that should be a big CLUE to you that the new owner of Standard Auto, Steve - is a much bigger thief than the previous owners. Sue is just as greedy as Steve is, she will smile in your face and kiss your butt till the deal is complete and she has her commission secured, then she can not be found. Byron is the rudest person i have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I called to talk to Steve about the lemon he sold me, Byron REFUSED to give him the phone or take a message and hung up on me. I have already reported this band of thieves to the BBB and implore you to avoid Standard Auto Sales like the black plague! They will take your money, up sell you on a warrantee and leave you hanging high and dry at the bus stop because your newly purchased car is actually a beater lemon! don’t waist your time or money on these disreputable people.

Auto Sales
I want to brag about how much they are so different from the previous owners of Standard Auto on the corner of Sauk Trail and Chicago Rd. First of all as soon as I came in the selection was emence and the quality of cars is definately a thumbs up. I have spoken with the most delightful sales-person Sue and she was so bubbly and informative. The owner (Steve) was honest and fair. I was there in the middle of the heavy flow of customers and was waited on and didn't hesitate to answer any questions. They wasn't pushy at all. If you want to buy a car, go to Standard Auto on Chicago Rd. You won't be sorry. I just bought 2 cars the same night. lol
