I took my college students car to Lake Elmo repair for an oil change and a headlight being out. I told the tech that the headlamp was brand new (and retested in the other headlamp) and that the problem had to be in the wiring harness. The total charge was $165. It appears they simply replugged the light in. My student told me 2 days later the “oil change” alert was still on and that the headlight was out (again). I had him take the car back to Lake Elmo Repair and they told him he would need to bring it back with an appointment. I don’t think it is fair to expect us to have to come back according to their schedule when the problem was the poor workmanship of Lake Elmo Repair. I figured the convenience of this shop would be worth it - but it’s not. I’m going back to Myron’s

I asked them the check out my brakes because they were squeaking and to see if they can figure out why my car sounds rough when it runs. The technicians were honest that the brake pads did not need replacement as they were just rusty. The transmission flush has made a positive difference with the way my car runs and shifts. they replaced my break pads, and a couple weeks later they began squeaking when I was breaking. I brought it back in, but they didn’t hear the squeak or take the time to figure out what was going on. They dismissed my concern, saying maybe my breaks were dirty, wet, too hot…. and sent me home. I took my car to Brooklyn Park TGK and they took the time to figure out why my breaks were squeaking - Maple Grove put in the wrong kind of breaks. Maple Grove TGK is going to replace my breaks for the correct kind, but I don’t trust them to do it right. They have been rude and dismissive to me, and didn’t fix my car like they should have. I’m extremely disappointed and would not recommend them to anyone.

The alternator on my wife’s van went out right before the weekend. She had plans to go out of town for the weekend but if I could not get her van fixed we would only have one vehicle. I call Bee Line Friday morning dropped it off at 12 and it was done by 3 for the price that I was quoted. Thanks Bee line for fixing the van so my wife could keep her weekend plans!
