While on a long trip, my son told me I had a front brake issue. When we returned, I took it in and there was an issue. The front brakes and rotors were replaced. I did take it in for a pre trip check and was told the brakes were ok. The brakes were replaced and all is good.

I did not tell the gentleman at the front desk, I wish I could remember his name, that I had done a little research. I simply asked for pretty decent all-season tires. He did not inflate the price per tire. In fact, based upon what I saw on their website, he charged a little under the price on their site. He also made me aware of how to receive a manufacturers discount, so I walked out of there pretty sweet. That is until the said that my brakes were virtually non-existent, which, as all it seems all automotive service goes, my final bill was a little over twice what I thought. They didn’t have my style of tire in store and then the store manager told me he found one at another store. This store was probably about 45 minutes away. I have been a customer of Plaza for many years and the work has been of acceptable quality for the money. But, Plaza is a very upsell motivated and this tactic is pretty off putting. I have made request over the phone so my wife would know what she was walking into when she arrived, yet when she has gets to the shop, the counterman takes advantage of the situation to attempt one more go at increasing his final total. I understand they are often offering a better product for the money, but that is not always the right choice for the customer and situation.

I needed 4 new tires and had made an appointment for 8AM. When I arrived the person who greeted me informed me that not only did I not have an appointment but also that they said not have the tires on stock that I agreed to purchase the day before with the manager of the store, Mike. He told me it would be a 3 to 4 hour wait. After asking to speak to the manager I heard him sigh and when the manager came to the phone he said “she asked to speak to you…sorry”. Waited 2.5 hours until to be told that my tire could not be fixed and that you had no tires my size to replace it in either the store or your system. 275/60 R18 Staff was courteous despite the issue. Waiting area was pretty basic, I watched a lot of Gunsmoke. The smell of burnt coffee mixed well with tires. I went to Big O and bought four new tires in the correct size.

Why make an appointment if it’s not going to be honored. Finally got car in I look out into shop they are jacking up right rear when I told them it was right front sensor that was bad. Was told it wasn’t front it was the rear one. They replaced rear sensor sent me on my way. On way home car is doing same thing with tire pressure light. It’s showing front sensor bad. I took car back in and on way in videoed dash and what it was doing. Showed to manager when I arrived. He agreed it was the front. Took car back in at 8 the next morning as I was told to do and they would get me right in. After waiting almost an hour finally got car in and replaced front sensor. Then they had problem with calibrating it. Finally a worker from Jeff City store who had arrived went out to shop and got it calibrated. Overall asst manager was a jerk. The good: Plaza Tire Service by another great organization Noah's Ark. Anyway, I had purchased tires from Plaza Tire about 3 months ago and they were excellent to work with then too. Regardless my tire pressure light came on so I went to check my tires. Unfortunately one of them was quite low so thinking that I had a slow leak, I called Plaza Tire and spoke to Jordan and told him my issue. I exoected that I would have to wait until next week to get my car in, but to my surprise Jordan who was very nice, asked if I had time to immediately come by as they could get my car in right away. After using your services for about 7 years, I really hate to write this. But recently I made an appointment to have the service I mentioned and told the scheduler I really needed it by noon, he said no problem. After two calls I finally picked my car up at 5:30p.m. Not happy. You have fine people working there, but What I see happening is you have too few people and the ones you have are overworked, which means customer needs are not net due to overbooking. If limited staff is available, schedule accordingly. Your turnover, in the front office at least is awful. When I first started with Plaza, I actually got to know the people helping, for the past few years I hardly see the same person twice. I am not blaming your staff, the problem is not with them. After many years working when things go wrong at the service level it’s time to look up the chain, not down. I plan to try your service again, I’ll see how it goes.

I made an appointment for 9:00 am on the 15th, I arrived 10 minutes early. I was getting an oil change and inspection. Was told about an hour so I walked to the mall and returned in an hour and my car had not been touched. The person I spoke with could not tell me what they had done to my car or if I needed any more work. The excuse was that they had worked on several Kia's that day and he wasn't sure which one mine was. After having work completed on my vehicle I had issues with several warning lights coming on that where not prior to the work. When I went back the front desk personnel asked the mechanic to take a look at my issue and he used several expletives basically accusing me of lying. They used a code reader to reset the error and never tried to find the cause. I have reset the error myself several times since. I am a little apprehensive going back to this location. The time estimates they gave to complete my front brake job were grossly underestimated mainly due to short staffing. I had an 8:00 AM appointment. When I called at 10:15 they said it would be a couple of hours. When I called at 3:15, they said it would be 30 minutes. They finally called at 4:40 PM to say it was finished. They left me without my car for the whole day and I was unable to finish the errands I had scheduled for my day off. The evidence would indicate they gave low priority to my car's repair from their one mechanic present that day. He was taken off my job to attend to several others. I say it is better to complete one job 100% than to leave several jobs incomplete.

Job was done but it took 4 and a half hours for them to reset the tire pressure monitoring system, which should have been done on the previous visit on 4-22-21 when they installed new tires and broke one the the sensors. That was a VERY LONG WAIT for me. It wasted most of my day. They said they were sorry but they were busy. The previous week when they installed the new tires it took them over 3 hours to mount the tires after they told me it would only take about an hour; they apologized and compensated me with a new hub cap, no compensation from the second visit, which took even longer than the first. So in total it was was about 8 hours total I spent waiting for relatively a small amount of work.

I had called the day before to schedule a time for me to bring in my car for an inspection, usually takes about 30 min. 1 hour went by, I called to see if they were done, the guy said "yeah your car is next." Another hour went by, called again they guy said "yeah your car is next. About another hour passed "I called again was told the same thing again. I got a ride to plaza tires and my car was just then being inspected. When you schedule an appointment, you expect for that service to be done as soon as the car is dropped off. Never called me to let me know it was going to be a while. It took them over 3 hours to get the inspection done. Nice people, not so good with customer communication.

My recent visit to plaza tires was very unpleasant. I called two says ahead to get my vehicle in the shop for them to look at, they gave me a date and time to drop it off. They never got around to looking at it the day I dropped it off, I dropped it off at 8:30 in the morning. So the next day I decided to go in first thing when they opened and sit in the lobby holing that maybe they would be alittle more concerned about my vehicle. After about 3.5 hours I realized that my vehicle still hadn't been touched and many of other people had come in and left. So I politely asked how much longer it would be before they looked at mine. No one had informed the mechanic I was waiting and he took on two other projects. Eventually they got my estimate and said they would repair it and that it would be 3-4 hours this was around 11am. So I left and came back at 5. About 5.5 hours later. At 5:40 after they closed I was informed that they still needed another 1-2 hours. I just was in disbelief it had been 2 full days. I have two little kids and was having someone shuttle me around. I couldn't go another day without my vehicle. So they stayed and worked in it that night only to tell me that they didn't really fix the problem and asked me to bring it back. The mechanic did Apologize which I appreciate and told me he takes full responsibility for it he had just taken on to much work and would like to do the job right when he has plenty of time to focus on it. I appreciate that but all in all after two days I still have to bring it back totalling in me not having a vehicle for almost 3 days and inconvenience a family member. I don't like writing reviews but I definitely am not a satisfied customer, no matter how much they apologize it just frustrates me.

I would give you a five star rating except for the fact that three of your employees were not wearing masks! This was very disconcerting since we are still amid a global pandemic and now risks of a more deadly variant is amongst us. This was very very concerning. My 2012 Kia Sorento went in for an oil change and just a week or two later I checked my oil and it was nearly 2 quarts low. I called plaza back and they said bring it in and they would take a look at it I thought maybe the oil filter gasket might be leaking but I hadn't noticed any spots in my garage. Turns out it was a valve cover gasket. They replaced it that day. Haven't noticed any loss of oil since (2-3 weeks) but have had to deal with some smoking from the engine for a while which they say is residual and should go away. Sure hope so!

Walk-ins appeared to even get completed before my vehicle. When I originally called to schedule appt, I was told it would take approx 1 hr. I had an appointment to replace 4 tires and they seemed to take care of walk in before finishing my job. The time to replace the old tires with 4 new ones was over 1 1/2 hours. A long wait time since I had an appointment.

Paid for the better more expensive tires that they recommended yet they gave me the wrong cheap tires. After asking he said that’s what we agreed upon which is completely false. Also asked to do an alignment check before changing the tires and give me a call about the results, which they did not do. No reason to change tires and balance them if the alignment is still messed up as it will damage the tires. I would have been able to do the whole package if they called but they decided to not do that and split up the bill making it way too much. A few workers weren’t wearing masks including some customers (they are mandated).

Last November, I purchased a set of Falken tires from Plaza Tire. They’re great tires. I paid a LOT of extra money for tire protection plan, mounting, balancing, valve stems, lifetime 4-wheel alignment, etc. I was told that all this included lifetime balance and rotation and it does. I had been waiting quite a while, and just when I thought it was about finished, one of the guys came to me with an estimate for over $600 worth of repairs they wanted to do to my car. When I told him that I’d take care of it myself, THEN, they finally got started on my tire rotation, so I waited longer. I realize that they do this to try to generate business for the shop, but I wish they had ASKED ME FIRST if I wanted the complimentary 187 point inspection, or if I just wanted the tires rotated. I would most definitely have told them to just rotate the tires so I could get on down the road. They have advertised 4 tires - 1 hour - this was NOT the case. I was there for almost 2 hrs to get my tires. My alignment was out and needed adjusting, but since I had already been there for almost 2 hrs I didn't want to wait another 30 or more minutes for that so I did not have my tires aligned. Tire had a nail in it but still inflated, shiney nail visible, Plaza repaired and said it would be find (expensive Tire) . Tire inflated when I parked it in my garage, but less than 1 minute from my home, heard noise got out and looked my tire was almost flat I returned home placed the car in the garaged because it was night I waited and called AAA who came out and put the spar on. I took the car into Plaza tire because it was the same right front tire they had just recently repaired, they told me there was another nail, I told them it would not make sense there was a nail in the same tire when it was unusual when I had the first, and had been no where to pick up nails. I was told to leave the tire when I checked on the tire, I was told the tire was damaged beyond repair because I had driven on it flat, which was not the case. We have been a customer of Plaza Tire for many years. The Lake St Louis store is great to deal with. Our son is going to school in Columbia and needed tires. I call the Fairview store at 10 am. Dropped the car off at 1:45 and said we would be back in the 1 hour that we were told it would take to put the tires on. I am giving only 3 stars due to the fact of a couple reasons. The first reason being I had called and scheduled a appointment for 2:30 and planned to use my lunch break to wait on the car. When I arrived I was informed it would be at least 30 min before the would pull the car in. I said that’s fine a little frustrated but understand. I took my 2012 Kia Sorento in to have an oil change and the technician noticed I had a CV boot leaking grease; and dirt, oil and moisture getting into the axle and bearing area which could cause for a much bigger expense down the road so instead I was able to get a new axle, oil change and an alignment for around $400. The front staff is very friendly, but both times I have had to go in and get tire work dine they have been s-l-o-w. When you have an appointment you expect to get fast service. This last visit was for a slow leak in one of the tires I purchased from Plaza Tire in April. I called the day before and the representative said they were booked for the day, but would I be willing to come in the next day at 3:00pm? I arrive at 3:00pm the next day and waited in the lobby. About an hour later I thought they were almost done with my car, when I noticed it had not been moved from where I parked it. I brought this to the attention of the front desk person, who apologized and said they had another job that took longer than expected. If they knew they were behind a little warning when dropping the car off would have been nice, or at least an update while I'm waiting. Finding out almost an hour after arrival at the appointed time your car has not even been looked at is not good service. That said, the front staff was courteous and they did take care of my problem under the tire insurance plan. I just don't like having to be at the shop for almost two hours for a simple tire repair.

I did not have an appointment as I had a punctured tire so it was an emergency (for me anyway). The young man at the counter (Brandon Jones) told me they would look at the tire and determine if it could be fixed. He indicated it would take about an hour. So I left and came back in about 45 minutes. He showed me the tire and it had a large slash in it so had to be replaced so it only took about another 30 minutes for them to get that done. They nickel and dimed me. They didn't tell me how much the repair was going to be till the end. If I would have know they were going to charge that much I would have taken it some where else. when I got there they said it would be done in about 30 minutes and ended up not finishing till 2 hours later. On top charging me almost $20 a tire to fix my tires that we're loosing air they added on charges for shop supplies for patching a tire when they didn't even patch my tires. The service I received was terrible. The shop told me my vehicle would not pass inspection because my ball joints needed to be replaced. They wanted nearly $600 to do that. I advised that this didn’t make sense as my ball joints had just been replaced 10,000 miles ago. They were adamant that they needed to be replaced again and oh by the way they could also perform a bunch of other service, non of which did I ask for, for some additional money. I never asked them to check any of my fluids. They were just supposed to complete an inspection. I took my truck to two different mechanics and both confirmed that my ball joints are in great shape and do not need to be replaced. What a scam your shop is.

My daughter had a blowout near Plaza Tire and we went straight to there after the blowout to get some new tires. I asked them what they would recommend and they told me the Falken tires would be good I wanted something very quiet and all weather. I left my car there and went to work. When I came back to get my car they had put different tires on there than what they told me they would without calling me. I had to take time off work and go back and have them to put the other tires back on. I've been driving these tires the Falken tires for about 4 or 5 days now and I hate them. Both said the tires had roaring noises when I went down the road very loud roaring noises. I will be calling them again to get my money back or hopefully they still have my old tires.

One of the tires on my 2015 Smart Car had a slow leak and the Plaza Tire technician said that it had some metal in it. He fixed my tire and I told him to order me a new one since the old one might not last that long. I was allowed to go home without paying anything until the new tire came in. The folks at Plaza Tire Service are fantastic. They are very nice, knowledgeable and have great prices and even better service. I recently went in because my alternator was going bad, Plaza tested it, and they notified me there was a recall on it through the auto maker, and I could take it in to the dealership and get it replaced and fixed for free. In the meantime, my car completely died since the alternator was completely roasted and it wasn't charging or sustaining my battery, thus draining my battery completely. Car completely dead sitting halfway in/ half out of a work bay at Plaza, I called the dealership for assistance, and the dealership was extremely rude and ever-so-slightly "professionally" told me that's a bummer and they can't do anything until it is over at the dealership. And they do not reimburse for towing or any other expenses to get it there. Plaza then, realizing the poor customer service from the dealership, took it upon themselves without me saying anything, to make it right. Plaza without hesitation dropped a brand new battery in my car for me to get it over to the dealership for them to work on it. Plaza did this free of charge, with a smile and a handshake, trusting I would bring their battery back (which I did:) when my battery was back on the replaced alternator, and charged up again. Plaza absolutely went above and beyond in every way to make sure I was taken care of, even though they did not get the business for the alternator. Came in for scheduled oil change with my 2 year old. I waited for my oil change to be done as I was in a hurry. As I waited some came out to tell me that my oil plug was stripped. I have had my last few oil changes at this Plaza tire so it had to be them that damaged it. I had to wait for them to get one from O'Reilly. It took over an hour to get the oil change done. They still charged me full price for the oil change, even though it was there incompetence that made the mistake. I still don't understand how they make a mistake and damage my drain plug, they do oil changes all day long. Very dissatisfied with this Plaza tire, no customer loyalty to give a discount or offer anything for the long wait. This place needs better workers and better management.

Unexpectedly I had to make a stop by the shop; I was getting ready to head out of town for the weekend and my low tire pressure light came on again. I had stopped by the shop on the previous Thursday and they had aired up and checked my tires and all was good. Once I notice this again, and glad it happened before I got out town, I stopped in to have them check it out. The staff was accommodating and able to get to my vehicle right away; I did indeed have a nail in the side of my tire so they were able to replace the tire and get me on my way within an hour. I appreciate their hard work and efficient time on my issue. Thank you!!

The waiting room is very cold in the winter, but the service is very good. They try to be as efficient as possible given the timeframes they have. I appreciate their customer-oriented attitude.

The tech said it would be ok to drive the vehicle on a different size tire. Well it wasn’t. Now we have to replace the axel because it destroyed the differential. If you’re spare is not same size do not use it on a Ford Explore. We didn’t drive very far before it started making noise. This was an all wheel drive Explore.
