About us
Porsche, Jaguar, BMW, Mercedes shop founded in 2011, RennsportKC is the resulting partnership of two well-known and well-respected Porsche technicians, Karl Wilen (former lead at Imagine Auto and owner of Doc Wilen Racing), and Wes McCullough (former owner of Underground Autosport). Karl and Wes live & breathe performance sports cars. When not at the shop, it is likely one of them is at the track maintaining customer cars or getting out for a few laps themselves. It isn’t just a job for these two; Karl and Wes are enthusiasts who love working with Porsches and other high-performance automobiles….and who have even been known to dabble with “daily drivers”.

Wes began his life in the shop at a young age, following his dad around as he meticulously restored a ’57 Chevy Bel Air, an old Chris Craft, a tweaked a 1962 Corvette, or developed one of many gearhead dream projects. Wes’ grandfather’s electronics lab was the stuff of science fiction. Thanks to him, Wes became comfortable with the oscilloscopes and meters that make life with the British cars and bikes he loves possible today.
Wes’ first position in a shop was at a small independent outfit, and formal training at a local college soon followed. Since then he has worked at shops servicing everything from motorcycles to semi tractors. After building several high-horsepower sports cars and never being happy with the handling, Wes bought his first 911 and was hooked on Porsche from the first drive. For five years he operated Underground Autosport, with a focus on building, restoring, and maintaining European autos.

My Jaguar XJS had been to three shops to fix a the car dying randomly. Wes replaced nearly all of the old wiring under the hood. We've been running great for months now. I appreciate their help so much!

Jaguar repair
Told by the dealer we needed an entire "throttle body" but Russ at RennsportKC replaced a single part saving us over a grand!
