Specialities

Thomas Cummings has worked in the automotive repair business since 1985. In 1990, he joined a company where he became manager and controlled all aspects of the business for the next fourteen years. With so many years of experience, Tom was ready to start his own company. In 2004 he purchased Stack's Auto Service & Tires in North Babylon. This was a repair shop that had been started more than twenty years ago but when the original owner retired, the new owners struggled to keep the business going and sold to Tom. With all of his automotive and business knowledge he was able to increase his customer base tremendously. Each year he continued to grow and in 2006 he purchased another repair shop in the next town over, West Babylon.

Thomas is very ambitious and strives to be bigger and better with each passing year. He continues going to classes for both technical information as well as management training.

Besides being a smart businessman, Tom is also a family man with a wife and two sons who may someday take over the family business. He enjoys boating with his family, playing sports with his kids, and working on classic cars.

Service Provided

Been having my cars serviced at Stacks for several years now. Always give a fair estimate and always get the work done in the time promised. I still use Stacks as my neighborhood mechanic even though I moved 30 mins away. Didn't know how many stars to give for "Shop Amenities" because it is a repair shop and don't know what kind of amenities you need other than having your vehicle repaired by skilled mechanics.

Although there was a little misunderstanding with the tires you guys came through! Thanks! (We had talked prior to my dropping the car off and it was a mutual understanding then that the new tires always go in the back.)

Your estimate was accurate, you drove Gail home, and the work was great! (We had brakes done at MIDAS and they gave us a price quote of about $350 - same as you quoted - then the price jumped up to about $550 - then when we picked it up the price was $950. Almost 3 times! Anyway, you made her a believer. We're going to you next time.)

So after taking my car to several shops and not getting the problem fixed I finally took it to stacks were i met Tj and Joe. They helped me get a ride home and my car problem was finally figured out in a few hours. So it turned out to be an idle air control valve Joe was able to explain to me that's why my vehicle was stalling while idling. Thank you guys for everything. Christina Gorman
