Alternator/Battery issues
I am fairly new to New York. You hear often the stereotypes of a dog-eat-dog world. So looking for a mechanic, and honesty, is not an easy task. However, I was in a jam and needed to find one. I came across the reviews for Hughes Motor Corp, and I was immediately impressed to make a call. Vinny answered (he's part of a duo with Kevin). He was very friendly and assuring when I told him about the problems with my Durango. I had AAA tow the car to their workshop in Yonkers. These guys are professional, efficient, and you get your car back within the time frame that is estimated. Overall, I highly recommend this workshop, they are a great team. They will take care of your problems and put you at ease. Cars are expensive toys, what you hope to get is a decent repair job at a fair price. These guys provide both, you'll be in good hands. transmission repair
Kevin and his mechanics are great! Every time I go there they are very honest and polite. I broke down on the Hutchinson and they had a tow truck come for me within 30mins. I don't know what I would have done without them. Thanks guys.

brake line repair
I'm a driver of an old 1996 car for 8 years. These guys are the best I have ever met in the car repair business. They are honest, always give a very affordable price and do high quality job. I already recommended them to anyone I know.

New fuel lines in emergency
Had car in another shop for 2 1/2 weeks. I drove it in BUT had to tow it out. I found Kevin Hughes here on Mechanic's Advisor. I called to talk and interrogate him. Kevin was professional and understanding if though I told him talk is cheap and actions speak louder than words. I towed my car to his place. He check my car and showed me what was wrong and what needed to be done. He told me approx. hours of work and the cost. He even said I could wait and watch which I did from a safe distance. His team did the job in 2 1/2 hours. Time and cost was in range of quote and everyone was professional. Kevin was pleasant yet professional. I did not want to sit and talk and be great friends, I wanted someone to tell me the truth about my auto needs, do the work right and a reasonable price - Kevin Hughes and his team delivered in a big way. IF YOU NEED SOMEONE TO TRUST WITH YOUR CAR TAKE IT HERE.

Ongoing maintenance and repair of 3 cars
I echo what the other reviewers have said- These guys are top of the line! I'm very grateful to have found them. They are honest, talented and will explain thing as thoroughly as you want. In the beginning I would get second opinions but I don't bother anymore- Kevin always has a less expensive price and always gets my cars back in top condition. I found them in a similar way as one of the other reviewers- end of the day with a car not running and a baby in the back. They had me back on the road in minutes! Love them!

fixed car heater
Kevin rocks!! Another mechanic told me it would cost over $1000 to fix heater core. Kevin flushed out the heater, changed coolant, etc. : total $95. THE BEST!!!!

Brake repair
These are guys are quick, efficient, and very affordable. I had to get my brakes replaced and jumped in there 30min before closing. They had a bunch of cars and didn't have to take me but saw the condition the brake pads were in, got new pads, and stayed after hours to assure me I had a safe car to drive. This is the third time I've brought a car to them and I don't hesitate to recommend them to friends and family because of their service and competitive prices. They seem to always work with you to make sure you're not spending more than you have to and get you back on the road as quickly as possible. Thanks Kevin and Chris.

control arm, ball joints, brakes, etc..
I have been using Kevin for over 12 years since he had his shop on Mclean Ave. He has always provided excellent service at a great price. Even though I moved to Connecticut over 2 years ago I still bring my car down to him. And the fact that he has been expanding his shop every few years shows that a lot of other people must think so as well.
