In 1949, Jack's Friendly Mobile Service Station started at the corner of Perry and Monroe Streets in Port Clinton, Ohio by Kim's father, Jack Smith. In 1979 the business changed hands with Kim Smith assuming the business and changing the name to The Muffler Smiths. Currently the Muffler Smiths has moved to a new location at 222 Buckeye Blvd., diagonal from the Port Clinton Elks.
