    Read your owners manual, in severe conditions 3,000 miles or 3 months , severe conditions include (major temp changes, Dusty areas, Stop and go traffic, Humid areas, excessive idling.) up to 6,000(pending on oil) non severe conditions: Freeway driving at speed limits, steady,dry,cool areas. And if the vehicle doesn't drive 3,000 mile in a year (twice a yr is minimum)

      yes, if you want to have a longer life and better the performance of your vehicle. over use oil looses is solidity which does not then reduce friction as much as fresh oil would and engine will work harder and thats when problems start to occur. internally you cant usually tell something is wrong until it breaks. its worth the 20 bucks.
