New tire purchase

I forgot to mention in my previous review that the car currently has 117,00- miles. So only 14,000 miles have elapsed since the "45,000 mile" tire purchase.

New tire purchase

In September 2011 I purchased 3 new tires and a 4-wheel alignment for my daughter's car (was told 1 of my tires was still in very good condition). At that time the car had 103,000 miles. Last week I had the oil changed and the mechanic at Hyundai told me that my tires needed to be replaced immediately because they were so worn they were dangerous to drive on. I knew this had to be a mistake because Jack at Spring Valley Tire & Auto told me that the Kumho tires I purchased were "45,000 mile tires". On March 27, 2012 I went to Spring Valley Tire & Auto and the did not want to take any responsiblity for these tires. They tried to switch the blame on me saying the tires wore so quickly b/c the car was in dire need of shocks/struts. They said you could tell the struts/shocks were "gone" by looking at how low the car "sits". I asked Jack why wasn't that service recommended when I made the tire purchase??? If they had told me about the shocks/struts I would have addressed that issue immediately. Their response to my question was to offer to replace the shocks/struts for $1,000 and new tires for $600. I am outraged. I've been going to this shop for years & I always tell everyone I know to go there b/c I believed that they were not the kind of guys to take advantage of a woman. I am a single parent and do not have extra money for unnecessary expenses. As I stated, I have no problem having the shocks/struts replaced if that is needed - but now I'm stuck with bald tires that I just purchased 6 months prior. This is unacceptable. Now I will tell everyone I know not to visit this establishment b/c when there is a problem they have no loyalty to their long-time customers.
