So-called tire assessment
I visited this establishment on 07/19/16 for issues with my TPMS light. My light had been on for 2 months and I informed the gentlemen at the front desk that I was having issues with the light remaining on despite continuous efforts at putting air in all four tires. He asked me which one it was and I informed him that I wasn't sure. There was instantly a look of discontent across his face. Now, mind you, the business states on it's website that they close at 6:00pm during the week. I got off work at 4:30pm and got there at 4:55pm, hoping to get my tires examined to see what the problem was. The maintenance shouldn't be very long for this type of problem, I thought, and they didn't appear busy at all. I was told to pull my car up to the second bay to have one of the mechanics look at my tires and all he did was put air in my tires. No time whatsoever was taken to actually see if I had a slow leak, nail, etc. I had already told them that putting air in my tires hadn't fixed the issue. They wanted to get me in and out because it was too close to closing time I assume. After the mechanic finished putting air in my tires, he told me that all my tires were sufficiently inflated except for the right rear which, before he put air in it, had a significant lower tire pressure than the rest. To me, that would signal that maybe you should actually EXAMINE the tire to find out why the pressure is so much lower than the rest of the tires. That action wasn't taken and I rode home with my issue unresolved. I then made an appointment for the next day to take my vehicle to a Honda dealership where they took the time to look at my tires and found a nail in my right rear tire! And guess what, the maintenance time didn't take long at all! I am thoroughly disgusted with Grimes on Hacks Cross and will never do business with them again. I will definitely recommend not to take your car here for any maintenance purposes.

Brakes
This shop does careless work. I've had tires and brakes done there. When my brakes did not stop my truck well without me stomping on the brake pedel the manager said his mechanic did not have a drivers license so he could not seat the brakes. He told me to bring it in and he would do that. Huh??! I had my tires replaced and filled with nitrogen. The stainless steel caps I bought were missing afterwards. I had to go back to get them back rather than the green one's. I understand indicating my tires have nitrogen with green but taking my stainless caps? Overall the work is very careless. Lots of missed details and poor workmanship. I agree. Don't go there!

Work done on breaks and a water pump replaced
DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO GRIMES TIRE PROS ON HACKS CROSS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!! I took my car the week of Thanksgiving to have my brakes checked out since they were squeaking. They checked my brakes out and told me that the squeaking was coming from my rear brakes and I also needed my tires balanced. I paid $247.00 and went on my way. The next week I started hearing a strange noise whenever I let off my brakes or when I turned my steering wheel. I took my car back to them to look at it and they told me I was hearing the noise because my water pump was bad. After paying $598.00 to have my water pump replaced and a compressor for my defroster I still heard the noise. I took my car back a third time because I only started hearing the noise after they did the work on my rear brakes. They claimed that it was my rotors and they claimed to have supposedly fixed it without charging me anything but now not only am I still hearing the noise but my brakes are still squeaking. I took my car back for a forth time and now they claim that it is my front brakes that are now the problem. Would they not have been able to determine this when they were checking my rear brakes? Grimes Tire Pros on Hacks Cross are rip-off artists who take advantage of women who don't know that much about cars. I have learned a very expensive lesson and next time will be taking my car to the dealership. I own a Toyota Camry and my car is only 6 1/2 years old so I feel they took advantage of me. Stay away from Grimes Tire Pros. The old guy at the front desk also needs a lesson in customer service. He is horrible!

One New Tire
DO NOT take your business to Grimes Tire Store on Hacks Cross. The front desk (I presume) manager, does not look out for your best interestes and in my opinion, is unethical in his practices and clearly does not understand the meaning of 'customer service.' Hold on to your wallet...and plan to take a day off from work to get any work done there!

Alignment
Wow, I have only bought tires from this location in the past and have always received good or great service however their mechanics are NOT properly trained when it comes to mechanical repairs. I figured that since I have bought over $1000.00 in tires in just the past year I would let them do a front end alignment for me-- that was a huge mistake. I was told I would need $800.00 in repairs BEFORE they could do the alignment!!! Being a certified mechanic and owning my own shop I know a thing or two about rack and pinion-- however since front end alignment requires equipment I do not currently own (I will be purchasing soon after this ordeal) I decided how can anyone not do this properly and decided to give my business to Grimes on Hacks. Well to make a long story short I dropped off the vehicle and about an hour later was told an alignment wasn't possible due to a bad rack and pinion assembly. Having just put an engine in this vehicle and checked out the steering very throughly I knew this not to be true. I went back to pick it up and asked them to put the vehicle back on the rack and show me the reason I was told I would need over $800 in repairs. When the mechanic lifted the vehicle he gave me a flash light and told me to watch the end of the assembly and shook the end-- the boot did not move and he said that it was worn out. I told him whatever movement he had thought he had see was obviously in his imagination and quizzed him on why the whole pinion needed to be replaced and why such a high price for a kit that anyone can buy for an average price of $150. Needless to say he stuttered and basically said I didn't know what I was talking about. I paid the fee of $32 for the inspection , drove it 1/2 mile to Gateway Tire on Hacks and told them the story. They had 3 service technicians look at the assembly -- found NOTHING and charged me $80 for the alignment and told me about 10 different stories about how Grimes customers had come to them to fix their mistakes. Tires, struts, and misc.
I can't believe the negative reviews! I just had a wonderful experience with Grimes and now see why my in laws have been going there for years! After being jerked around by the dealership and paying a $100 for them to look at my car I took it to Grimes for a 2nd opinion. They were super helpful and explained everything. Also they were able to fix my car for $600 less than the dealership quoted and did it the same day I brought it in on a saturday. They actually stayed late to get the job done! My car is running great and I couldn't be more pleased! Thanks Grimes for your quality service, reasonable rates, and being just plain nice!!

repair
Watch out these guys are theives and will take advantage of you if given the opportunity. In order to visit my family in Atlanta for Thanksgiving, I had to fork out almost $1000 for a repair that should have been, and was quoted as, $300. A+ rating on BBB shows that they are paying that scam agency to have a good rating (only BBB members can have an A+ rating). Beware, look elsewhere for HONEST car repair.
