EGR valve Stuck

Son is absolutely amazing. We were traveling through when issue arose. He diagnosed it quickly. He even called our hometown mechanic and spoke with him about issue and the repair. It really put us at ease that he was honest and held his integrity highly. He is an open book about your vehicle and shares that knowledge. He gave us some things to do on the road with the vehicle to ensure we made it home. Look no further for you repair needs.

Ford Explorer Transmission Repair

They do quality work! They redid my husband's Ford Explorer's transmission! It was a little costly, but well worth the work and price. The staff is exceptionally friendly. The owner Son is a great guy! He is very personable! He also fixed my Cavalier bumper for free. They do excellent work! It just takes some time, but so worth it! Have transmission problems? Please come here. They will explain and show you what it wrong with your car.

Auto Repair

If you care about character as well as skilled understanding and talent, then I am well pleased to inform you of an establishment that does exist. Son the owner boss-man, goes out of his way to inform and instruct, the reasonings and procedures your vehicle is undergoing. That"s an incredible blessing in my eyes. He also has a well talented and disciplined crew under his authority. If more characters and establishments existed like S&S, we"d have fewer thorns in our side to worry about when our vehicle acts up. I totally give S&S two thumbs up and a thank you for existing. God bless

Transmission Repair

Husband Dan & I can't say enough good things about S & S. These people were honest, trustworthy, very caring and professional. They had a cork board on the wall with several thank you notes and Christmas cards from individuals across the country whose lives have been touched by these people and their caring, trustworthy, very professional way of doing business. Our transmission locked up and we were stranded. We were on our way home to MN after vacationing in Phoenix. The circumstances we found ourselves in could have ended up being a nightmare but it wasn't to be so with the help of S & S. I've read all the comments written below and they're all "right-on" with their assessment of the honesty, quality and/or professionalism of this shop. They deserve 1000 stars!! Son...We made it home safely. Thank you again!!

Auto Repair and Service

10 stars!! I was with my family on a road trip from McMinnville, Oregon to Granbury, TX. When we were 13 miles north of Amarillo our transmission overheated and spewed fluid everywhere. It was unsafe to continue on in that vehicle and the repairs (new transmission) would've cost more than our 1996 Suburban was worth. From that day forward it was like the movie 'Planes, Trains, and Automobiles' getting home, but Son (the owner) at S&S was there to do whatever needed to help us. Including letting us leave our vehicle there while I sold it on Craigslist from Oregon and he also gave us his personal cellphone number to call him that weekend if we needed anything!

Subaru Legacy Transmission

My Subaru Legacy's transmission blew about halfway through a 16 hour road trip just outside of Amarillo. After placing a few calls to a number of transmission places, I was informed that S&S Transmission would be the best for foreign vehicles, so I called them and was told to have it sent over whenever and they would check it out. I had my car towed there and they immediately put it up on the lift to take a look. After confirming my fears, the owner did a great job calling around to get me a good deal on a transmission and coming up with a detailed quote even before I was sure I wanted to make the fix. Ultimately I decided to have a family member come pick me up and haul my car the rest of the way to Colorado where Subaru parts are abundant and cheap. Upon hearing my decision, the owner was very understanding of my situation, allowed me to leave my car in his lot overnight, and even gave me a free ride across town to my hotel. The next day when we showed up to load up the car to be hauled, he called out all of his employees to help push it on to the car hauler. All in all, this is some of the best service I have EVER received from a mechanic. Even after hearing my decision to not have the transmission repaired at his shop, they were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond the expectation of good service. Highly recommended

Transmission Repair

The owner is pretty funny. They all seem to actually really care about getting your car in tip top shape rather than just making money. Had my transmission inspected by them, and I'd go back if i needed any other work done.

Honda Odyssey Repair

My Honda Odyssey start to overheat and the transmission started to slip near Amarillo. Based on the the reviews, I decided S & S was the safest place to have it checked. We experienced the exact same excellent customer service from Son himself as stated in many of the other reviews. He not only did NOT try to over sell me, he also realized that I was stressed out as this was the beginning of our vacation. He suggested that we rent a car and leave our car on his lot for free and enjoy our vacation with a piece of mind and time to decide what to do work or aging vehicle. Which is exactly what we did. It is hard to think clearly when you're in that situation and Son did not try to take advantage of me and only had our best interest in mind. He even had me watch the rear to fully understand the situation. Thanks Son. Terry

Transmission Repair

I bought an 07 Tahoe denali a few months back unfortunately it wasn't in as good a shape as we thought and the transmission suffered multiple catastrophic failures one day. Fortunately I bought an extended warranty with it. I was very upset and had a really bad attitude about everything due to so much happening all at once. So after reading reviews I thought there company looked pretty good. We'll good turned out to be a serious understatement. When I took the vehicle to them he could tell by the look on my face I was not happy at all about anything. He took me in his office sat me down and said look I'm going to fix this for you and your gonna be happy so I said ok I hope so a few days later he called he had the tranny out and said you should come look at this so I did and he showed me how bad it was. So he sat me down and ask alot of questions about how do you use your truck? What do you do with it? Do you pull trailers and how big?how heavy how often? So I explained to him I do and quite frequently so he said ok no problem I'll build you a transmission that will handle it no prob. So at this time he also noticed I had a bad rear main seal and transmission lines leaking a bit so he fixed that at no charge and put the new tranny in and it works unbelievably well smooth as silk hauls trailers no problem and no leaks. Nothing but perfection. But what I really like about this man is genuine old school honesty and values and his genuine interest in truly giving you what you need that's gonna fix your problems and make your life worry free. The other thing is he educates you on everything how and when it should be serviced the best way to use it for different needs so you'll have the knowledge and a great product to last you along time. I'll promise you'll be very hard pressed to find someone better than Son Tao at S&S transmissions and I HIGHLY Recommend using them for not only your transmission needs but engine and other repairs you won't be sorry I assure you. And thank you Mr Tao and to all your guys for making this experience a great one you'll always have my buisness I promise you

Honda Repair

I have a 1994 Honda Accord with 223,000 miles. The transmission went out and the only option I could afford was to buy a used/rebuilt transmission to replace mine. They helped me find the transmission, installed it, replaced the seals and put in a new motor mount at a fair price. It's the only auto repair shop in Amarillo I've been to that didn't lie to me and rip me off. They are very honest and fair. Son, the owner, will always talk to you ahead of time, in detail, about the work that needs to be done and why. -Shan Smith
