Transmission Leak
A fool and his money are soon parted if you take your auto to this place. I took my truck in with a small transmission leak. They said it needed another transmission. They replaced the transmission and the truck still leaked. I returned the truck back and said it was a loose line. It still leaked. I took it back a 3rd time and they said it was an "external problem" and the transmission lines needed to be replaced. They want an additional $400 to $500 for something that was probably the only thing wrong with in the first place. I encourage you to read the BBB comments for this company if you even consider coming here. I wrote the BBB and this company never even bothered to respond. There is 26 complaints against this company and the business and of that 21 the company failed to even respond to the complaint. They need a class action law suit filed against them and go out of business.

Transmission rebuild
WOW!!!!! I wish that I had read these reviews before taking my car to American Transmission. Please do not take your car to American Transmission in Arlington or Keller, which is owned by JWK Auto Group. I had a transmission rebuild done and I've had to take my car back five times already after driving only 5K miles. I can't get anyone from their corporate office to call me back; I actually don't think the guy Darren is forwarding my number. This has been a complete nightmare for me as it relates to the cost of my time and the money I spent with this company.

american transmission and auto repair
I must say that I am very upset and displeased with the lack of service that I have experienced with your company. I brought my car into your shop on 02/24/2013 to have my transmission looked at. Spoke to Darren the manager that stated that the transmission is slipping. Darren stated that he could fix the problem and to leave it with him a couple of days. The couple of days turned into a week. Me and my husband picked my truck up on 02/28/2014 for the amount of 2202.19 roughly . I had to take a loan out to pay for my truck due to I am a struggling woman needing to get back and forth to work so I can feed my kids. On 03/01/2014 my check engine light came on went to the auto part store to hook it up to the machine to see what happened. The test showed the o2 sensors and I advised that I just had my transmission serviced. They stated that the car shop either hit the sensors or moved them while repairing the transmission. This was a Sunday so the shop was closed. So I just bought 2 o2 sensors 42.00 each and rented the tool for 25.00 because I did not want to take it to the shop and they keep my truck for another week because I have to go to work. On 03/03/2014 coming from work my truck transmission started doing the same exact thing it was doing before I took it to the shop. Spoke to Darren h stated bring it in and we will have this corrected in no time. I AM PISSED AT THIS TIME. I HAD TO GO GET A RENTAL CAR WITH MONEY I DO NOT HAVE. DARREN STATED THAT IT WILL TAKE LIKE 4 DAYS MAX. IT IS NOW 03/14/2013 AND I HAVE NO TRUCK QND THE TRANSMISSION IS STILL NOT IN MY CAR. DARREN STATED THAT HE NEEDS TO HAVE THE BULIDER OF THE TRANSMISSION COME IN. HE ORIGINALLY STATED THAT IT WAS A MODULE AND THEY HAD TRIED 3 AND THEY WAS ALL BAD AND HE HAD A NEW ONE COMING IN AND IT WOULD NOT ARRIVE UNTIL 03/10/2013. MY HUSBAND CALLED DARREN HE STATED HE NEEDED MORE TIME AND TO GIVE HIM UNTIL 03/12/2014. SPOKE TO DARREN HE STATED THAT HE IS WAITING ON THE BULIDER FOR THE TRANSMISSION. SO, W

Transmission
Took my 07 Ram 1500 into the shop because the truck shifts into Reverse very slow in the mornings. They told me it was a problem with that year transmission and but they could fix it, and gave me a verbal estimate of $1200 to $1500 to get it right. I left there after paying for them to test drive me truck, and went to another place. The new place mechanic pulled the stick and said, that I was low on fluid two Quart of fluid and I was gone. I've not had the problem since. The last piece of advise from the REAL Repair Shop; If I'm the first owner the drive line has a life time warranty don't pay to have anyone fix your transmission when Dodge will do it for free. I wonder why the guy at American Transmission on Cooper in Arlington didn't tell me that. I'll never go to American Transmission on Cooper in Arlington, Texas.

transmisson
Buyer beware! i went to this shop after Christian brothers told me i needed a new transmission. They told me I didn't need a new transmission but sold me $1200.00 in repairs. two days later my engine light came on and i took it back and they said it was my transmission and it would be another 1500-2000 dollars more. This place is a rip off. if you step inside their store you will step in some crap. BUYER BEWARE.

I was surprised to find a shop still willing to take my Texaco Credit Card. On top of that, they did excellent work in a reasonable amount of time. After showing me my timing belt I am so glad they recommended the repair. After a little research I found that if it would have broke I would have destroyed my motor. Thank you American Transmission for everything you did for me!

I took my car to Joe at American Transmission. He seemed like a nice guy. Estimate was almost $3000. For a second opinion I took my car to the Aamco up the street and when I went back the next day, they laughed. It was repaired for $400, and they said that any transmission shop should have known I didn't need a new transmission. I have driven it 15k miles since then and it's shifting like new. And that's not all. My boyfriend, who I met well after this happened, rebuilds transmissions for some racing place and he knows this stuff. Just to see what would happen he took his car in for an estimate, knowing there was nothing at all wrong with it. Not only was the estimate for $800, they messed up a pan that he had to fix himself.
