I need a new compressor for my air conditioning system, according to the Honda Dealership where I purchased my 2012 Honda Civic, quoted at $450. I thought Shenandoah Automotive, who I have gone to in the past for oil changes and other repairs, would give a similar quote. They insisted that if I have the compressor replaced I will also need to replace the dryer and expansion valve and that they would then need to recharge the air conditioning, quoting the repair at $1,435. Obviously the dealership would know if I needed those things.
Don't let them sell you things you don't need. I cringe to think about the repairs I've had in the past there that were not necessary.
On the up side, the people are nice.
