Auto repair service near Andrus Island, CA

Referred to Family Auto Care by CarMax since they were booked throughout the month. Was impressed by the service Nicole and Sean provided. Very understanding to my situation and was able to offer me a drop off and a pick up ride to and from their shop. Very polite and professional. Quick repair and nice people.

I took my 2006 Nissan Pathfinder into Vacaville Nissan to have a bounce problem in the rear checked out. They said the problem was the rear shocks. The replaced those with OEM shocks. The bounce was worse that before the replacement. The tires would actually leave the ground on small bumps and the vehicle nearly flipped over on its side going over a railroad track. I returned to Vacaville Nissan but the Service Dept. was closed. The head new car salesmen checked out the car and stated that the shocks are too weak to support the weight of the vehicle. I returned the next day and there technician took the car for a test drive. He stated that there is a problem but there is nothing they can do because these are the shocks that their Book show for this vehicle. THEY KNOWINGLY ALLOWED US TO LEAVE THE DEALERSHIP IN A CAR WITH A DANGERUOUS CONDITION THAT COULD RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH. THEY PROMISED TO FIX THE SHOCKS IF THESE DIDN’T WORK BUT FAILED TO TELL US THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY 680 ADDITIONAL DOLLRS TO DO THAT.

I came into this shop and ask how much it would be to diagnose and replace the thermostat and water pump - they quoted $57 for the diagnosis and $657 for the work. When my husband dropped the car off they wrote the quote much higher so I called to dispute it and was told this was there standard price. I asked them not to work on the car because I didn't feel comfortable with the sudden price change. When we picked up the car it had been moved and I asked why they said they were about to begin the work when I cancelled. I drove it across the street for a diagnosis at another shop and was told that the Coolant hoses were disconnected and all of the coolant was running out of the car...and the car could not be driven it had to be towed!!! Costing us even more money!!! There were no leaks when the car was dropped off at CME. The thermostat light had come on a few weeks earlier we filled up the coolant, nothing was leaking because the car sat in our drive way for two weeks while we were on vacation....until we could drop it off at the shop. Please beware of these vindictive crooks...

The guys here are always straight forward. Good prices and I don't feel like I'm paying for services that I don't need. I've been taking my personal car here for awhile and the company I work for gets their services done here. John S. Antioch, CA

I love going to Clayton Valley Auto Service as Jeff and all those who work there are friendly, knowledgeable and do a very good job. When I had a check engine light Jeff's dad told me right off the top that it could be 4 or 5 different things and they would start out with the least expensive until they found out what the trouble was. I'm still driving that van around 5 years later. I really appreciate the great service they give. They are really great for routine maintenance, and wonderful when I have emergencies.

Watch out for this shop. The owner, Charlie Qu is a hustler. He does not want me to buy my auto parts at Napa Auto. Charlie said that Napa parts are all made in China. I had my client repair her car to Advanced Auto Service to repair AC. Charlie promised my client heaven and earth. It took 2 weeks for Charlie to fix the car and made everyday promises that it was going to be fixed.

I took my car here for what turned out to be a simple, small electrical issue. Instead, Carlos told me I needed a fuel injection flush - one of those things they upsell you too when you go to an oil change place. Only this one cost over $300! Carlos assured me that the problem was resolved. I ended up stranded at the side of a freeway two miles away. I had to get the car towed at a cost of over $150! The solution was easy, took 10 minutes, and cost me nothing at the place I towed it to. When I called Carlos to tell him I was stranded at the side of the freeway because of his poor workmanship, his attitude was dismissive, condescending, and unhelpful. He proceeded to tell me that he doesn't guarantee that his workmanship will fix the problem. Really? Imagine if your doctor treated you that way. Basically, he took my money and did nothing. I get the feeling that this place once was a good shop, but someone got greedy and dishonest. To be certain, Carlos is a good talker. He seems sincere and knowledgeable. But the emphasis here is on SEEMS.

If you want communication with the service department, think again! When you come in for a VERY SPECIFIC fix and you get the car home to find out they did something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. Then you get the run around and a TON of excuses as to why you got what you have. If they had just explained from the beginning that this is your problem and that we would like to do this (move something) because it is the standard. I might have been OK with that. That is called COMMUNICATION!!!!! Talking in circles and telling stories is not!
