This place was busy right away this morning when I arrived. Still they were able to squeeze me in. I thought I need a tire patched as it was flat. Ends up it was only a bad valve stem. They switched it out in no time and didn't t even charge. I was pretty surprised and quite speechless. Thanks a lot guys. By much appreciate and you'll be seeing me again when it's time for new tires. John Sheridan

I am new to the area so I relied on Yelp and Google ratings to help me find Hank's Tire. It's an "old school" place - been in business since the 50's and it is second generation family owned - a gem of a find. They educated me, didn't pressure me and made me and my car much happier. Thank you guys!

Pep Boys

6325 Fallbrook Ave, Woodland Hills

You should know a few things about Pep Boys right off the bat. First, they charge about the same as many dealer mechanics. So, you should basically just take the car to the dealer or an upmarket independent who has more reason to care about your car. In addition, you will wait an awful lot for service with such a markup. Again, if one pays a premium, one expects a certain amount of service. The last thing you should know is that they seem to lack an enforced policy with regard to their work. If you walk in, you are just dealing with Mike, and if Mike does not feel like giving you a refund, that is that. My story is that I took my Buick in to have it checked out since I was going to drive it across country. They charged me $485 for a belt and two radiator hoses. This is somewhat of a premium price and I will discuss that is just a minute. I got my car and drove it for a few days (it was repaired on 6/5/2014). The radiator then blew out in Jackson Hole Wyoming (on 6/13/2014). This is pretty far from where I live and it really created a lot of problems for me. The fluid it leaked was green. It turns out that they put regular pro-line coolant and not Dex-Cool as the manufacturer recommends. This is documented in the receipt and I saw it with my own eyes. Did this cause my blow out? It’s hard to say, but if a surgeon leaves a surgical sponge in the patient and they get sepsis, it’s likely they will blame the surgeon. When I brought my receipts and material to Mike Zdralek the service manager, his opinion was that I needed to prove it was their fault. The funny thing was I was extremely polite and was trying not to point any fingers. Even a simple apology would have been nice. Now I’m out $485 for the repairs which had absolutely no effect in preventing what they were intended to do. I brought the car in to prevent a radiator blow out, and they did the job wrong and it blew out … in the middle of nowhere. The extra repair cost me $471 (plus $200 to have the part driven in from Idaho Falls). So I’m out over a thousand dollars now with nothing to show for it. The interesting thing to note is that a whole new radiator at a standard mechanic costs the same as two hoses and a belt from Pep Boys. This gives you an idea of the markup they charge on work. In the future, I will not bring any business to Pep Boys. I hope that the %20 margin they made was worth it. That’s the last they will see of me and the last dollar I will spend with their store.

Woodland Hills Quality Motors

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE. Back in July I purchased a 1958 Chevy Apache pickup truck from Larry. I found the ad for the truck on Craigslist, and was excited to come see it as it was exactly what I was looking for. The ad stated that the engine was a 350 "Bowtie". After getting the truck home I noticed that it had a HUGE oil leak so I took it to my mechanic to have him track it down and fix it. It was my mechanic that noticed that not only was the engine not a bowtie, but it wasn't a 350 at all! It was a 283! After this discovery I had many phone conversations with the dealership trying to get them to renegotiate the purchase price based on the fact that I bought the truck thinking it had a 350 in it. They just gave me the runaround before finally telling me to sue them. Overall this was a very frustrating and disappointing experience. Please do not buy a car from Woodland Hills Quality Motors.

We were referred to Mitch at Schneider's Auto Repair by a family member who has had nothing but good things to say about them. We have taken our cars to Schneider's for the past couple years and have received excellent service from them. The customer service department was extremely courteous to us each and every time. I have referred friends and family to them and will continue to do so!

Dear Steve Italiano a.k.a. “Diesel Vehicle Service” I have been serving the city of Simi Valley and surrounding cities, in German auto repair, for the past 25 years. In that time I have built great relationships with all of my customers and earned their loyalty and trust. Not sure why you have chosen to go on the public forum “Google Business” and others and fabricate a story about your experience at my business? You did recently visit my shop twice. Once on 8/28/15 and again on 09/23/15 to drop off your 2003 Mercedes Benz 300D for services. I did not work on a Diesel CDI Mercedes wagon as you claim and did not perform the services you stated in your review. On your first visit you claimed your car would not shut off. We performed a diagnostic on the vacuum system, installed new vacuum elements, replaced 5 injector hoses, and performed a rear brake service and oil change. On your second visit you ordered all of your own parts and had them delivered directly to my shop, via UPS. I performed only labor on your vehicle which did not include replacing any injectors as you state. You picked up your car on Saturday 9/26/15 at 1:30 in the afternoon. I have the parts list and both service invoices from my shop to prove which services where done. You seemed very happy with the service my shop provided, you were smiling and you even shook my hand which I have all on my surveillance video. You then state in your review that you took your car to the Mercedes dealer and claimed I did not perform the work stated. That would be impossible since you posted your car for sale on Craigslist and Ebay on Sunday 9/27/15 (the very next day); the same day you wrote this fabricated review. Again I have proof and copies of both ads. You then went a step further and proceeded to write slanderous reviews about my business on Google Business using various aliases, i.e.: Beverly Hills Guy, John Gonham and Guy Fieri and posted a fabricated review on the MB World Forum under user name “BobC63”. You also proceeded to write slanderous reviews on my wife’s YELP work page, my dad’s YELP and Google work pages and my IT guys Yelp work page that are all completely false. I have filed a police report with the Simi Valley Police Department for the threats made in your review about impersonating me on the phone, canceling my insurance policy on my business and leveling my building. If anyone reads your 112 reviews on Yelp alone they will realize the type of person you are. You prey on other innocent businesses across the country, CA, PA and NJ, by writing bad reviews on YELP and GOOGLE. I know this because I have talked too many of them personally on the phone as well. You write racist remarks, use lewd language, make numerous threats and make many false accusations. Mr. Italiano, defamation and libel are illegal and punishable by law. The right way to resolve an issue with any business is to speak with the business owner and voice your concerns. Give them the chance to make things right before bashing them on the internet.
