I am so glad I found J&H Mobile Truck Repair. I broke down in Modesto. It had been a long trip to and from Washington state, and I was on my way home to Fresno. It was late on a Saturday, I was sure I would be staying in Modesto till Monday. I must have called mobile service providers for an hour. Half of the numbers did not have an answer and the others did not want to respond or did not have the part in stock. I was dreading a tow and hotel expense. When I dialed the number for J&H a friendly voice quickly answered. She explained she was the after hours service for J&H. She took some information from me and immediatley connected me to a mechanic. This yound man was friendly and so very helpful. Within the hour a mobile unit was on site and the repair to my truck was under way. The on-call mechanic was firendly and professional. My truck and me was back on the road within 3 hours. I am routinly through Modesto and now stop regularly at J&H for routine maintance. There staff are very knowledable.

I called for an appointment for a smog, and the person on the phone was friendly and helpful. He directed me to a $20 coupon in the yellow pages. Their location is very convenient and they had me in and out in no time. Quick easy and affordable. Just saying.

I seriously recomend this shop for ALL repair needs as they are fast and honest. They dont try and jack up the prices on repairs for things you dont need they do there job and are very very reasonable!! We do not go to any other shops for repairs ...

What a great repair shop. My 1982 Toyota had failed smog, and other repair shops were unwilling to diagnose what was the matter so I could have her fixed and comply with smog requirements. Tito's took the time to do a comprehensive diagnostic, recommend repairs at a reasonable rate, and fix her. He provided all the necessary paperwork for the STAR station, to ensure I am compliant. "Old-fashioned" customer service, courteous and helpful, I would recommend him highly.

The most honest auto shop in Modesto. I highly recommend this shop to EVERYONE!!! They got my car up and running within 24 hours.

This shop if full of lying crooks. LUIS managed to scratch my vehicle when replacing my radiator. They did not compensate me for the scratch, and the radiator only lasted a couple of months. Even with a receipt and a one year warranty, the owner, JOSE refused to replace my radiator. I ended up buying another radiator from them, at wholesale. It broke down again. I just came from talking to them, and now JOSE and LUIS are reneging on the warranty. They may be cheap, and cheaply made with warranties, but the warranties do not hold up with these people. DONT BUY FROM THEM

Took my money and did not respond to any form of contact. Had to go through legal means to get my money back. Do not use.

Do use this shop!!! cost me over 4,000 dollars,and when I got my car back, I had them pull the motor and put it back in. the motor never had any power for a new motor.I pulled it out took it to a machine shop in colfax, ca BOUTRY'S ENGINES, he was supposed to find the problem and fix it. Not only did he not figure out the problem!! After paying him 1,800 dollars!! I put the motor back in the car and the rear main LEAKED so bad i could not drive it! I found a competant machine shop in petaluma,ca NORMS MACHINE SHOP they do race engines! norm jr inspected the motor and informed me the pistons were down below the deck 110"!!!! this motor has stock 906 heads that have 89cc combustion chambers, the compression height was too short!!!rettig bros mistake!!!! and a very costly one,in horsepower and money,and my labor taking the motor out two more times!!! and Dave rettig will not give back a dime!!! Same for boutry,s in colfax. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY

1 - very bad accuracy with completion time. We called earlier last week and made an appointment to drop off the vehicle on Wednesday, they told us it would be completed by Friday with confidence. So we expected the vehicle to be done 2 days later, vehicle ended up being done the following week on Wednesday, 7 days later. Not the biggest issue, things happen, but the events to follow with such a remarkable delay in comparison is very bad, also considering every following day we were unable to get an accurate statement when vehicle would be done, which altered are scheduled day by day. 2 - apparently they have only one main mechanic to work on vehicles, they told us the mechanic is out for injury, and is part of the reason why our vehicle work was so delayed. If I knew we were going to get a shitty substitute of work, I would have asked for a refund since the mechanic was out unexpectedly with everyone. 3 - my wife called at least a dozen mechanics, in Modesto and the surrounding areas. This place wasn't the cheapest, but they gave us their time and trust during our phone inquiry. One thing they told my wife was the job was going to be a flat given rate, that included taxes. I had my wife call them back to schedule an appointment, and to ask again about the flat price, and the person she spoke to said "yes tell your husband do not worry, that given price includes taxes and the following work". 7 days later, after 5 days late with job completion my wife went to pick up the car, and they ended up charging close to a couple hundred dollars in taxes on top of the flat rate that we were given the previous week. 4 - last but not least, they fucked up our car, and they denied all of the damages done to the vehicle. http://imgur.com/a/7B1aMrj At the moment our insurance company is currently investigating it, to determine if the work they done could have caused this damage. There is other scuff marks not in these pictures, marks that look like they used improper tools to pry off vehicle body parts. To be very honest, besides being very furious and frustrated, I am very concerned of the engine work they have done with my vehicle too. So far it seems good, but I don't feel secure about it at all for the long run.
