Auto mechanic in Oakhurst
I’ve known this fellow for a couple of years now I’ve always thought he was a standup guy, a man of his word since he claimed to be a Christian faith. I had trouble with my car the other day I called him and asked him if I can have it towed to his shop. He said bring it on. I left it there thinking that he was gonna work on He said come by tomorrow and I’ll have it done for you. I got a phone call an estimate to see how much job he did. Tell me that he thought it was the fuel pump and maybe needed a tuneup. He did get a chance to get it to fire up and drive around the other side of the shop. OK, well if you think it needs a fuel pump go ahead Just give me an estimate so I know you know I can afford it Because I had a certain amount of money, I wanted to spend on the car and that’s it since I’m limited income I had a friend to help me with the the repairs on the car when money was tight. I said that there was a part in the back of my car that was part of the secondary air injection Wanted to make sure it was still. Back of the car, not necessarily wanted him to install it for me because the bracket was missing that I had previously taken off and ran out of time to Not have the proper part to fix it at the time I got into it the week prior to me being there. Roughly 9 o’clock in the morning, the mechanic texted me (you can come pick up Your car). I said thank you for taking the time to get it done prior to the 1 o’clock that you previously told me when I got to the shop he was very rude. He was yelling for my key. I followed him into the back. He got my key in my hand turned around yelled at me and said get the hell out of my shop. You’re not welcome here anymore. I’m not a second rate Mechanic . I don’t want you here. You’re not welcome here anymore, what? did I miss something ? The past weekend before he’s introducing me to a family member and on Tuesday the following on the week following his cursing me and kicking me out of his shop probably because I demanded a red estimate he claimed that I scheduled with him three times and canceled with him three times and that is a correct statement because I am on limited income. I had found somebody else to help me with the problem of my car. His rates are too high for me. in fact, there’s a gentleman at my church that I go to now that helps the members of the church for free allowing them to save money when they need work done on their car I never insisted that he should do it for free. I was trying to explain to him that a mechanic that is at the church. I’m attending now helps people save money. Why would I pay Sullivans to do the job. if you have an auto or anything wrong with your vehicles I suggest don’t take it to this shop. This man is not a man of integrity. Let alone a Christian he’s very dishonest and not very communicative very rude And obnoxious. Not a great way to start off a business or to keep one running and apparently this is not the first or second time he’s done this he’s done this Employees that have worked for him and other customers that I shared my story with have told me as well. As I left and drove my car home it stalled on Highway 41 with cars behind me almost rear ending me. I had to call a tow truck try to push the car off to the side of the road or into the medium of the road. well, he had my car in his shop for 24 hours and He never gave me an estimate on the repairs. He figured that he would do whatever needed to be done without giving me an estimate. That’s not the right way to run an auto shop. Several people have used his services people that I know for many years and he’s taking $800 from one clients Daughter said he fix the air conditioner on the daughters car and nothing was ever done to it. Another person said he had to take him to the automotive bureau of investigation. (BAR )The reviews go on and on my advice don’t use this person. Don’t give this mechanic your business … Sullivans is right around the corner. They very honest shop. They do very good work. At 11:52 I got a call from Sullivans after doing a vehicle diagnostic. They found out that the cam sensor was completely broken and that was the cause of my vehicle not responding with the ignition on no idle not getting gas completely dying while driving it’s amazing when Mechanic uses his tools instead of second-guessing what the problem could be. I’m I left this review up on my page because I want him to be a better mechanic bringing these extra details to his attention. Perhaps it will make him much more attention to detail Mechanic…
And maybe make things right with the people that he charged $800 to fix their air conditioner and it never was done correctly. You don’t take money for a job that you can’t fix. I never did when I was in business.
I was in business in the Bay for 25 years. I still have listed in my company 148 five star reviews if you can’t be honest with people and be able to take constructive criticism then my advice is to get out of the business. A lot of people have scheduled appointments with me three weeks out and they have canceled because probably found somebody cheaper. It’s part of the business you have to be willing to suck it up and no problem.
My advice, no matter what mechanic looks at your car. Make sure that they put it the estimate in writing before any work is done and you have a copy of it. .. by the way Sullivans’s gave me an estimate for a vehicle diagnostic $165. I said go ahead two hours later they called me and said your camshaft sensor is completely shot. Total job out the door $485 I said that’s fine. Go ahead and do the work. I went in person and confirmed that that was the case the following day….
