I dropped my car off last week to get a tune up and oil changed. My experience was very pleasant! All the mechanics were gentlemen and when I asked questions about my car they answered in simple detail so I could better understand (know nothing about anything about cars). My wait for my car to finish was not long at all! I left to do some things in town and they were done before I got done! I will be taking my car to them every time and I highly recommend them.

I rated ONE star ONLY because there was not a way to circle in NO stars. We purchased a 2005 Volvo S60 2.5T a couple of years ago from Mr. Leif RosenQvist at Young Harris Truck Sales. We paid about a $1,000 too much for the car to begin with, however, I blame myself for that as I failed to take the time to research properly before purchasing. Had the car for a couple of months and little things began "shorting-out." Come to find out, it appeared the majority of the wiring under the hood had all been "rigged" with old tape that was wearing off fast. Ends of wires were exposed, wires and hoses left dangling, not hooked up to anything. We began addressing these things - and to make a long story short, I had NO check engine light come on, temp. gauges never displayed any type of overheating, regular full-synthetic oil changes and fluids kept filled within the car, when BOOM! out of nowhere and with complete surprise, coming home from Wal-Mart at NIGHT, my Volvo spit, sputtered, and died on me. My dad stopped in and spoke with Leif and he said he'd price some motors and call when he was able to locate one. He called and my mother and I went in paying him $1,000 down on the total charges, per Leif, of $2,001.?? Again, per Leif, this total was for the motor, a new timing belt, a new water pump, a possible thermostat, tune-up with fluids and his labor. My car sat at his shop for ONE month! My dad had stopped by the shop twice, I think to check the progress and We called him, maybe twice - total, regarding the completion date. I was having to rent cars and that is not cheap! Leif seemed to be "put out" by our concern for my car. He finally "finished" and called us. My parents picked up the car, as I was working at that specific time. I clocked out shortly after that and ran out to see my car, got in, fired her up and began down the road only to find my car spitting and sputtering, acting as if it were going to stall at any given moment. Reviewing under the hood, I noticed the timing belt and water pump were NOT new, therefore they had NOT been replaced. Mind you, Mr. Leif specifically stated the timing belt had been $200! The spark plugs were disgusting and in fact, cylinder #5 was completely filled with oil, drowning the plug. We took out all plugs, Shop Vac'd the oil out of that area, replaced with new plugs and oh, yeah, this occurred because the crankcase breather hose was never hooked back up. I had JUST purchased several new parts and pieces on my original motor, which Mr. Leif kept, not putting those new parts and plugs onto this other motor for me. In fact, we took the car back in to Leif and confronted him about the timing belt and water pump. As he worked on an old Volvo that's been there forever with parts he's mysteriously acquired, he throws his hands up and says, "I'm not a liar." The proof is in the pudding, I've always been told, therefore, we showed him that we know where those parts are and that we know they are not new. I even had a manager of the Auto Parts Store here locally tell me the timing belt was not new. Leif wrote us a check for that $200 for the timing belt that he "didn't lie about," but you know - the one he didn't replace. So, I've paid for a water pump I didn't get, old spark plugs, old everything - and labor for a car that was clearly not fixed properly. I live paycheck to paycheck and $2,000 is an awful lot of money to be shelling out for my car to still need a mechanic's touch (more like make-over). Leif told me that the guy who is working with him accidentally threw away my old motor so that's why I couldn't have my parts off it. I've accidentally thrown away pens, glasses, keys .... but how in the world do you accidentally throw away an entire MOTOR?! I've had the car back for one week now and already put another $300 into it and I still can't get more than $700 for it as a trade-in on a car that actually runs! My advice is BUYER BEWARE! There are plenty of reputable car lots and properly trained ASE Certified Mechanics and I would advise you to go to one of them and NOT Young Harris Truck Sales in Young Harris, GA.
