Our 22 year old car would not start at noontime on a 100 degree day in this small town, which was 5 hours and hundreds of miles from home. The proprietor and his family interrupted their lunch to crawl around on the hot asphalt to try to figure out the problem. Eventually, they towed the car back to his shop to work in the shade. Had he not jumpered that wire for us, we would have had to shell out money for a motel stay. So he not only saved us a lot of money that way, but he charged us only a small sum for his hour and a half of helping us, less than most places would have charged for the tow alone.
