I went to Bettencourt Honda with an unusual running problem. The cycle was losing power at speed. Seemed to be fuel related. I did drain the carb before storing it for the winter. It was acting up before I stored it. They said they would start with a complete fuel system clean wth a carb rebuild, and would go from there.They charged me $200. The bike ran the same afterwards. When I questioned them, I was told that their techs refused to ride on it because the engine "sounded like it was going to blow up". Actually, it has sounded the same for the past 4 years and 20,000 miles. It is a one cylinder 200 cc engine, and the muffler was loud, not the engine. I guess their techs couldn't tell the difference. I called around and finally found a Yamaha dealer that would work on it. I took it to C&E Yamaha a long way away. They found the problem almost immediately. It was a clogged charcoal cannister. Bettencourt Honda said they would have checked the vapor cannister IF IT WAS A HONDA; but they don't do that on non-Hondas. The moral of the story is that Bettencourt Honda does not do a thorough job, don't verify their repairs, and don't stand behind their work. They have a 14 day guarantee on their work, but wouldn't help me after 10 minutes. I spoke to the service manager afterwards. He changed his story. Now he said that the reason they wouldn't ride the bike was because the tires (full tread in front, marginal tread in back) were dry-rotted (hairline cracks near the bead that you had to really bend the tire to see). Stay away from this place. I made an appointment 3 weeks prior to bringing my bike in. Needed new tires to go to Laconia on the 20th of June. Was told by them that the bike would be ready. They had the bike a week longer and did not complete the work I had asked to have performed. Asked for all of the fluids to be changed, change the air filter, and replace the tires. They did the oil change and changed the tires. That's it. They stole the chrome caps out of my foot pegs. They are liars. I paid 680.00 for 2 tires and an oil change and to have the caps stolen that only cost 5 bucks. I'm 60 and have had a lot of service over the years. Nothing has been as bad as my experience with these people.

Brought my motorhome to ironhorse to fix a leak on the roof of my 2010 ford class2 motorhome. I met with the owner brian Cavanaugh and we went over the leak. He said no problem they do these all the time and that he would have it done within a week and submit the bill to my insurance company. Well 2 weeks go by... I called several times and this guy bruce who sounds drunk every time I call says the same thing, that Brian isn't available. Well I decided to drive down there to see how things were doing, and when I pulled up my motorhome was sitting outside in the pouring rain. I went and opened the side door only to see my roof tiles were soaked and falling down, the carpet was drenched and the wall was bowing from all the water....WTF. I immediately called my insurance company and told them not to send them a dime as they ruined my motorhome interior. Come to find out they sent a check to them for 4323.00 and the owner brian cashed it. I explained to my insurance co what they have done my insurance company called them while I was there looking for an explanation and of course, Brian is nowhere to be found. His sidekick bruce told them they were working on it. Long story short we are now taking them to court for the severe damage they have done and my insurance company is charging them with insurance fraud. BEWARE OF IRONHORSE COLLISION OR IRONHORSE ENT IN FREETOWN MASS AS THEY ARE A VERY SKETCHY BUISNESS.
