This dealer sold us a car with multiple problems and refused to provide a refund. We had to go through arbitration with the Office of Consumer Affairs in Massachusetts in order to get our money back. We eventually won the arbitration and got our money back after 6 months of grief and frustration. This dealer sold us a car with no heat, no a.c. and the vents didn't work. It also had a broken motor mount, inoperative windshield wiper fluid, inoperative horn, and a loose door lock. We took the car back two times and many of the problems never even got looked at. Based on the evidence provided at the arbitration, the arbitrator easily found in our favor and this dealer was forced to return the full price of the car along with our registration fees. This dealer hung up on us several times throughout the process of trying to work with him. Very immature person to do business with. Car was a lemon and repair and service was awful. Turnpike Service Inc. is now under new management. I have followed the mechanic, Patrick from Beverly to South Hamilton and now to Topsfield. He is the fairest and most honest mechanic that I have ever met. He has been working on my 1998 Jeep for over 5 years now and keeps it "running better than new." He has never tried to sell me things that I do not need and will not "replace" parts simply because I feel that they are getting old. He constantly asks me, "when is the part going to break? A year from now or ten years from now?" I never have an answer for him but I find that his answer is always quite sobering. Simply put, why fix something that is not broken? When it (or if) it breaks we can deal with it then. He constantly tells me to save my money! Imagine that!!! He has kept my Jeep running to perfection and I appreciate it greatly. Heck, I have followed him for 3 towns now and I would follow him again! In a way I want to keep Turnpike my little secret but after the way he has treated me over the years I feel that it is only right of me to let the rest of the world know about Patrick too and hopefully he will become as successful as he wants to be. Just as long as I still get special treatment and to the front of what is sure to be a long line in the future. Just kidding, but not really. LOL.....

These men are the greatest & are so honest it's really a blessing to find people of this caliber in this day & age. They not only care about the work they do but they truly care about the customer also. The engine is perfect & the car is running great. I also went in about 3 months ago because my car was vibrating so much that I couldn't go over 50 on the highway. Of course I'm thinking the worst & big money but they once again were honest & told me all I needed was a pair of new tires. What a relief, they could of told me anything & taken advantage of the situation, but no honest as always. Keith the owner & his mechanic are always on site, even if you just need advice stop in & you will always be greeted with a smile. I just can't say enough about these guys, but the only way to find out for yourself is to stop in. Believe me you won't be disappointed. Thank you for putting my engine in, it's running perfect. I couldnt be happier with the work that 290 did on my car. You can bring your vehicle to 290 and know that your not going to get ripped off. No matter how big or small the job is they get it done right.When I got my suv back from 290 I was so surprised they had cleaned my car at no cost to me!!!!! The owner is so nice, he explains everything that he needs to do to your vehicle in detail before he does it. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. In the future I need any work done on my car I will bring it to 290 AUTOBODY without hesitation!!!!!!!

Its hard to find an honest mechanic these days and let me tell you I found one.. I had my car towed there recently because it wouldn't start, they were very professional and counties even offering me a ride to work and back . It ended up being a loose connection at the battery terminal . They took care of it and didn't even charge me. I mean I have been to other service garages before that wouldn't even take a look at the car without charging a minimum diagnostic fee. I highly recommend this place to anyone not looking to get ripped off and be treated fair.

I went to Young's Garage in Worcester, MA on 8/6/15, for my first time. I spoke to Jim about having my car looked at for a starting problem. I was told there was a $45 charge to diagnose the problem. When he got back to me later that day he told me it was the alternator and it would be $375 total. I asked him why it was so expensive and he told me it was because the part was hard to get to. He said it was a big job so therefore most of the charge would be for labor. He told me if I dropped my car off the next morning it would be done later that day. I dropped the car off at 8am and Jim told me he would call me when the car was done. I waited until 3:00 to call and check on the progress. Jim told me it wasn't ready and it would be done for 5:00. I went to pick up the car and he handed me a bill for $330 after I already paid the initial $45 charge. The next day I called to question about the $45 charge, because the part and labor were through his shop. All the garages I have gone to take the initial diagnostics charge off if you buy the part and have the labor done at their shop. I wanted to let him know I was dissatisfied with the price all together and the amount of time it took between both days. Because of this experience, which was my first here, I will never go to this garage again.
