LJ Smith - 6-16-11 My vehicle was towed by Tumino's Towing and my BMW was damaged during the tow. So we called Tumino's Towing and spoke with a manager named Charlie Hruska who advised us to bring the vehicle down to his shop and have his mechanic look at the car. Once the vehicle was brought there charlie had Frank Dragotto, the Service Department Manager bring the car in the their shop, put it on a lift to examine the damages and advised Charlie that the tie rod and other damages were made to the vehicle during the tow. Charlie then told us he would repair the vehicle and just needs to order the BMW parts and come back on Monday. So we return on Monday and speak with Frank and told him we would like bmw authorized shop to do repairs. Once we told them this Charlie refused to speak to us, refused to provide insurance info, acted unprofessional and like total jerk. We then asked to speak to John Tomino the owner and after waiting an hour we decided to get their insurance info from the town. Now im going back and forth with insurance company because they will not return the agents calls to confirm damges. terrible company, would never pay them to tow anything, not even if it was a junked car. And their customer service is lousy. Beware.

I too have been bringing my cars to Tilden for many years and really appreciate the attention and quality service they have received. They treat their customers like family and will go out of their way to fix your problem and get you back on the road. McGuckian Motors in Halesite, NY is run by talented mechanics who are also wonderfully kind people. I just returned from there a short while ago after having dropped off my car to have the oil changed and brakes fixed yesterday afternoon. Not only do they ALWAYS find room for me whenever I need them (I had only called the day before), their assistance extends beyond what they offer AT their shop. Today I headed out from the shop with new brakes and fresh oil to stop at a store across town. When I came out, my car would not start -- there was a clicking sound indicating battery problems. I called and in just a short while one of the mechanics had come to my rescue with equipment to get it started, then he had me follow him back to the shop and ordered another battery on the spot. I was set to go in about a half an hour. On another occasion I had stopped in with one of my alert lights going off, reading a problem with the tire; they tended to me right away and fixed it with hardly a wait. They are always friendly and pleasant, even dropping me off at my home when I have had to leave my car and returning to pick me up when the work has been completed. They have created community in their mechanical oasis. It is not just a place that has high standards for their technical profession; it has high standards for their personal dealings with their clients, making it a place of neighborly friendliness with clearly trustworthy and pleasant people. I am so lucky to have found such a place to take my car and it is a great comfort to know I can rest easy with my car in their hands. I cannot recommend McGuckian Motors more highly!
