On 3/16/15 I traded a 2007 Acura TSX for a 2000 Jeep Wrangler. I took the Jeep for a test drive and when I came back I explained that I heard a whining noise. Dan told me that it was the clutch and he took off money from the price of the Jeep so that I could get it replaced. I agreed and was told that everything was in working order. I live about 2 1/2 hours from his dealership. About 1 1/2 hours on my way home the Jeep made a loud clunking noise and stopped. I called for a toe at around 10:00 pm and had them toe it to the closest repair shop. I immediately called the dealership and left Dan a message. In the morning I spoke to the repair shop and it would take them a couple of days before they could get to look at my Jeep. Once they were able to look at it I was told that the transmission was bad. The price they wanted to fix the transmission was more than what I thought it should be. So I called another repair shop in the area and had it toed to that shop(Elliston Auto Repair). I then called Dan and told him that it was the transmission and that I had it toed to a different repair shop. He then proceeded to tell me that the Warranty Company would probably not pay for any of it. He said that they usually find a way to not pay. Dan then told me he would have someone pick it up and take it back to his shop for the repairs. After thinking about it I didn't trust him or his mechanic since they obviously did see the problem in the first place. Dan told me he would have a clutch kit dropped shipped to the repair shop and he would send me a check for $500.00 if I would no longer make him responsible and if I, my family or friends did not post anything about him or his company. I then received a call from the repair shop a couple of days later and they told me that the differential was also bad. He told me that the dealership should have caught this if they had done any kind of check out of the Jeep. He then told me that the transmission didn't have one drop of transmission fluid. I went and picked up the Jeep on 4/8/15 and the bill was $3802.90. Of course on my way home the warranty company called me and told me that they were not paying anything since it was a preexisting condition of the vehicle. In my opinion, he knew he was selling me a vehicle that was unsafe and he didn't even consider the fact that my son was in the Jeep with me.

I saw negative reviews of this place and thought they may just be isolated incidents. I should have gone with my gut feeling, that was mistake #1. I dropped my BMW 650 off on Wednesday evening for an appointment on Thursday morning. That was mistake #2. I stopped by later on Thursday to see what was going on with the diagnosis but my car was no where to be seen. After asking where it was and waiting about 10 minutes I was told it was parked out front, it wasn't, I looked. A few minutes later one of the "technicians" was pulling in with it. Ok, fine road test I get it. They say they can't find any coolant leaks and that it's not leaking, trust me, it's leaking. Ok fine, I pick the car up and notice they put 131 miles on it. I called Carey the owner and he didn't even deny it. He told me they drove it to Mentor for an "extensive road test" to see if it would leak. Are you kidding me? They were even dumb enough to leave a receipt in the car from Painesville which is a LONG way from Parma Heights. The funniest thing about this whole cluster is that the owner thinks or at least acts like this is completely normal. I said, "it's funny how a BMW dealer doesn't do this". He replied that he knew BMW techs that will road test a car to Columbus. Seriously? He's delusional. Well at any rate, they used my car to joyride and most likely never even looked at it. They said it's probably leaking from a loose expansion tank cap, if that were true it would be leaking from the top, not the bottom as it's and coolant would be down the tank and it's not. Funny how BMW found the problem in 30 minutes. Do yourself a favor and pay a few extra bucks and go to a reputable shop unless you want your car used like Ferris Buehlers Day Off. You've been sufficiently warned.
