Mobile Car Battery Installation, Houston

Chris did what he said he would do. He came to my car, he was on-time and polite. He told me my options and explained his troubleshooting methodology. We decided to go with just battery cables and new connectors. Could I have done this myself for much cheaper? Most likely. But I don't know a thing about cars and don't have tools, rags, time, energy and all that other stuff that one might need to do that. He even gave me some tips in case my starter were to ever go bad and some signs to listen for to possibly differentiate a bad starter from a loose connection. Will I use him again if my car won't start? For sure. Do I recommend him? Absolutely.

After exhausting our local options we put the discovery 1 on a trailer and took it here. Most reviews were good so we thought we were lucky to find one only 5 hours away. We were mistaken. Maybe for maintenance work they would be ok, but to actually diagnose and fix the problem, I would never recommend them. The first time they had it for 2 weeks and $1100 later we had a tuneup, an ignition coil, new ground wire and spark plugs.... and a vehicle that still couldn't make it out of the parking lot. So keys in overnight slot again and it stayed for another 2 weeks. Both times my husband was told it was running well and they had been driving it around. Amazingly after one month and all the "driving" they did, we had 2 miles put on the truck and it still wouldn't get out of the parking lot. All of the things we had already replaced they replaced again... (ignition coil, oxygen sensor...) and wanted to keep it longer since they thought it was the mass air flow (had 2 sitting in the truck since we already went that route) and kept telling my husband the catalytic converters were blocked (3 months old... and would blow leaves across a parking lot). 2 days after trailering it home (another 5 hour trip there and 5 hours back) my husband talked online to a landrover owner who had similar issues. After checking the crankshaft sensor (as suggested) he discovered the 2 wires to/from the sensor were melted together. After fixing that problem it still "missed". So he went to look at the crank position ring and discovered a tine bent over. Because of this the sensor couldn't see it and was missing. After gently bumping the tine back up into place the sensor saw it and the missing stopped. It is running smoothly and perfectly. Now he just has to figure out why, after they rewired it, the front windows wont roll up or down, and the front sunroof won't either. I am not saying these people didnt want to fix it, I am saying that they should admit when they don't know and quit being parts replacers instead of mechanics. Also their master mechanic never seemed to be around, which makes me wonder if he was would it actually have gotten fixed. If you need a tune up, then this really doesn't apply to you but if you need a problem diagnosed you might want to think before sending it here. $2000 later and still not running any different when you pick it up, you have to ask if it is really worth it.

If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would. THEY ARE SIMPLY THE BEST AND MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE WHEEL REPAIR PLACE IN HOUSTON!!!! When I first came to this establishment, I was not knowledgeable on wheel/rim repair. Be that as it may, I desperately needed two rims fixed on my Lexus truck after I unexpectedly hit a curb. From the minute I walked in, the staff was courteous and answered all my questions, and trust me, I had a million. Needless to say, they were patient with me and walked me through the entire process that would take place in fixing my rims. EVERY questioned I asked Tracy, the “front desk receptionist” I believe she was; she followed up and asked George, and his abundance of knowledge calmed ALL my concerns. I expressed to Tracy I worked in the medical center so I could get my vehicle after my workday ended, and she said it was not a problem. At the close of my work shift, Tracy called to say my truck was ready. Unfortunately, I expressed to her I didn’t have a way back to the facility. (This is where the MAGNIFICENT customer service takes place.) Tracy told me it wasn’t a problem and arranged transportation for me to get back to the shop. The fact she went above and beyond for me distinguished this place really cares for its customers. In conjunction with their remarkable customer service, the craftsmanship of their repair personnel is superior! The repair they did to my rim erased the fact I ever it a curb. It was like the rims were brand new once again. I can say without a shadow of a dought the exemplary service I received at this shop made me a customer for life! I will undeniably recommend them to my family, friends, and coworkers. Thanks again, Houston Wheel Repair; you all rock!

Came in for transmission service January 2017 and was told it would cost $600 to look at the transmission. I paid cash, got a hand written receipt, and I told Daniel (manager) to call me with an estimate. He calls me for with the initial estimate of $5000 less the $600 so $4400. I told him to wait for repair so I can talk to my wife, and that I’ll call him the next day. I called him the next day, and he said he’s completed repair of the car. I told him I did not agree to start, so he starts lowering the price to $3200. When I go pickup the car the next day, he tells me one of his porters got into an accident with my car (they said it was the other driver’s fault, which other driver said he was the porter’s fault). Long story short, I ask for owner’s contact info and he says it's private. I contacted him 17 times to get my car fixed (January to end of March). Car was left at the shop for over 1.5 months (tires went low). After which I took the car home and also inspected the transmission and found out the transmission dust cover was missing. I came back immediately and Daniel said he would not install the dust cover & claims it was missing before the repair which he also admitted that he would contact me if anything was out of the ordinary during the repair. After 3 months, Universal finally fixed my car due to the collision but with a very bad paint job/bondo work and missing/broken parts which I had to go back/forth to get fixed. Buyer beware of always negotiable transmission prices and no dust cover being re-installed. If they get into a collision with a customer vehicle, they never gave me their owner’s contact information and their shop insurance to make a claim after repeated requests, so I doubt they are insured. It’s also interesting that my $600 initial cash deposit is not included on my final receipt (only the $3200).

I have been to this mechanic over the past 2, almost 3 years. Finally realizing that they may have cost me money instead of saving me money. I initially went for an engine light. They diagnosed it as CATALYTIC CONVERTER. My car was in shop for 2-3 days. Not only did they say one of the catalytic converters CRACKED during the repair and needed to be welded while they fixed it, but the engine light was off for ONLY ONE DAY. Came right back on after I spent $800. Since that day, I have been back to replace the IONIC motor, power steering pump, a FULL TUNE UP that they claimed would fix the engine light. They always said that the TRANSMISSION was fine no matter how many times I reported a problem with it slipping or my car just completely turning off. I spent so much money there and I STILL have an ENGINE light on. Finally, took it to another mechanic someone recommended and he reported that they used CHEAP parts for the catalytic converters, didn't replace the sensors when they did the original work, and NOW the whole TRANSMISSION is messed up because it has been LEAKING. I BEEN SAYING TO CHECK THE TRANSMISSION and they never did! Isn't that supposed to be their speciality? Now I will have to pay $2500 to fix my entire car. NO THANKS TO AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CENTER.

I have been to several auto repair shops in Houston and this one is absolutely the worst of them, by far. So I wanted to do a simple state inspection on my car, which runs very well without any noise or problems. Their behavior was so rude, unprofessional, and dishonest and they wasted my time by making me visit four times without finishing a simple inspection although they charged me for that. First time I went there, "their machine was down" so I came back the day after. After several hours of waiting, the rude staff told me that my car needs a CV axle replacement that costs $400 and without that replacement, they won't pass the inspection. (Note: CV axle is not even part of the state inspection!) But regardless of that they charged me for the inspection service and they gave me a 10-day grace period to fix this axle and come back to finish the inspection for free. So I replaced the axle in another shop for $250!! and came back the next week to finish the inspection for free as he promised me. But guess what? "The machine was down" again so they asked me to come back the day after. Finally, I took my car for the forth time and he told me "their machine is still down" and I need to take my car to another shop in order to catch the registration deadline. But I have already paid them for the inspection. When I complained, they just denied the whole story and whatever he already promised me to do. VERY RUDE! I do not recommend this shabby shop to anyone. I wish I could rate them zero stars.

My nail shop is across the street so I have been taking my car to this shop for oil changes for years. I took my car that has 67,000 miles on it to the shop two weeks ago. When I picked it up Ariel gave me written estimates for $1400 of work including: front brakes, rear brakes, motor mounts, and timing belts. I asked him if he just checked the recommended work for the miles or if they REALLY checked my car. He assured me that they checked everything. I knew that I needed front brakes. I know that my car doesn't have enough miles on it to need timing belts or motor mounts. I also know that you rarely need back brakes at the same time as front brakes. I took the car to my REAL mechanic he told me that I only needed front brakes. The other items are have need to be replaced in the next two years. I will never go to Meyerland Shell again.

I'm really bummed to have to write this review as I've used this place for my inspection for at least 5 years. Today I got my car inspected and once I got home, I realized my glove compartment handle was bent outwards. I tried to open my glove compartment and the handle completely popped off. It had been fine that morning when I got my proof of insurance out. I'm sure whatever happened was an accident, but they just said there was nothing they could do. I'm really disappointed to have had this experience with what I thought was a good mechanic shop.

I saw a car on their website and did an inquiry, I received a call back and was told to come in the test drive the car. I went and spoke with the salesperson (Michelle Palin) she seemed nice at that time. Well we spoke about my credit and decided that I would apply for financing so I did an online application the next day and I scanned and emailed all my personal check stubs and utility bills to her, she let me know that she received my documents. Well the next day I got an email from Michelle letting me know that so far this is what I was approved for and told her thanks for the update. So now 1 week has passed by, no response from anyone at this dealership, I sent an email asking what the status was on my loan approval, no response so I called to speak with Michelle I was told that she was not in, I called for about a week straight and no Michelle no call from the finance department. I finally sent an email on last Friday and Michelle claims that she was getting on a plane to come back in town she had been on vacation, she said that she had given my information to a co worker and asked if he had called me, I told her no one called me.. this has been the worst customer service I have ever experienced. It is now Monday and I have yet to receive an call from this dealership. OH AND BY THE WAY THAT 1ST WEEK THE CAR WAS REMOVED FROM THEIR WEBSITE.. Funny part is I already had an check to purchase the car just wanted to see if I could get a different interest rate through one of their banks....THEIR SERVICE IS HORRIBLE I WILL GO UP THEIR CHAIN OF COMMAND TO LET THEM KNOW HOW THEIR EMPLOYEES ARE TREATING POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS

You all literally scammed me out of monies. I brought my car there to get a diagnosis on my AC because it was no longer working. The tech ran a scan, then recharged the freon ($270) only to tell me that the compressor was no good. Mike presented me with a quote of $2500 to replace it, parts and labor. From there, I took my car to another shop whom ran a scan and diagnosed the problem to be the pressor sensor. They charged me $340 for the scan, to replace the sensor, and recharge my freon and the AC has been working ever since. They also told me that you all should have know that it was the sensor before recharging the refrigerant. I will never return to your shop because I do not trust you. The same thing happened when Mike was on vacation and I brought my car in to have a water hose replace. You all did a bypass on my auxiliary water pump. I was told that the part had been discontinued and that the bypass was the work around per the dealership. Well, I called the dealership and was told that was not true as well and that bypassing the pump cause problems. When confronted with this information, after coming back from vacation, Mike insisted that only the hose had been changed which is not true. You all are not to be trusted and I will never refer you business.

I purchased a LS P75 head from this place on a Friday and was later told on the following Monday, by the owner, that I was suppose to remove the head myself. I requested for a refund that Monday and was told Tuesday to pick up the head because they finally removed it that day. The owner said, " Sorry but head is there ready for you and if he didn't have the head then he would refund it." Not only did I purchase this head but I also paid for a motor swap which ended up having an oil issue that they did not fix. I also requested for my car's original motor and transmission back, in which the owner said it was recycled. This was without my permission nor did he notify me about it. Later found out he kept it, as he does with other customers car's motor and transmission; then sells them to new customers. Don't take any advice from this place nor do business with it because there only looking to skim by with your money. The owner does not respect customers and he does not respect his workers. This alone tells you enough about himself and his business. I don't want the people from my city getting messed over by this corrupt Non-Texan.
