Meineke Car Care Center

Did a very poor job. I visited this location for a simple oil change. In order to accomplish this a few screws and a plastic aerodynamic cover must be removed from the underside of the car. They did not put the screws or fasteners back in place and the car made rattling noises as a result. When I took the car back to inform them that pieces were never put back in place and that the oil filter was never changed they pulled it back in. After a few minutes they returned the car to me STILL missing screws and without replacing the oil filter. I once again brought this to their attention and finally they pulled the car in and finished the work (but they lost original parts and replaced them with substandard junk). They also left dirt and oil smears on the inside of my door panel. The bottom line is that if they are incapable of providing a simple oil service, you are taking a serious risk by having them do any other type of work. There is no pride in the work and zero quality control. My suggestion is to visit a dealer for your service needs, they have actual trained technicians and very high standards generally. Most people won't be capable of checking the work like I do, so please just use this warning.

12/2/12 "service date"- Rude customer service. Kevin helped me when I walked in to get a diagnostic code on my car and said I would have to wait since there were customers behind me which was fine. The thing that bothered me was that we he told me that he answered the phone and took the call and left me standing there. Didnt even offer to try and get someone else to help me or get another associate to take the call so that I would be helped. I had enough, went over to Auto Zone, I got my code in 5 mins and was very helpful.

I was really hoping to find a great honest mechanic in the area and thought Mastertech would be that place. But we took our Mini Cooper in to get an inspection done and for some reason, on that day, the service engine light was on. Therefore, they couldn't inspect it. We paid for a diagnostic test to be done so we could get the work required done to pass inspection. We were told that the part would need to be ordered and it would take about 2 days to come in and it would take 1/2-1 hour for the service. I was quoted a price over the phone for the repair. He told me that Mini did not carry the small part that was needed and that he was going to have to get it from another auto parts store and go pick it up. He said that Mini only sells the entire assembly which would be much more expensive. But over a week went by without a phone call to tell us the part had arrived. So we called on a Wednesday and they said they would call back. Never did. We called the following Friday and they said they would call back. Never did. So we called the following day, Saturday, and we were told that the tech guy who quoted me the service was now in the hospital and that they couldn't do the repair because they don't know the exact part to get. They referred me to Mini and to get a rental from them, which is now going to cost me major $$. Remember...the tech guy told me that Mini does not sell just the small part needed (only the entire assembly). Not to mention that Mini (the dealer) charges 300% on their parts and labor. Chris, the one I spoke to on Friday and Saturday, seemed to not know anything. He just told me to take it to the dealer. If I would've known they wouldn't do the repair, I would've had the diagnostic test done elsewhere (somewhere that could). Because now, I am out that diagnostic fee and it cannot be applied to my repair as they promised. I feel terrible that the tech guy is in the hospital, but it shouldn't be that difficult to know which "pigtail" to use in our car when they have all my auto information on file (make, model, VIN, etc.). VERY UPSET AND DISAPPOINTED!!

City Garage is not just an auto repair shop. We aren’t just about getting an oil change, or brake repair, or transmission repair. At City Garage, we are about our customers. We are about DFW. We started in 1993 with a single location in Plano and today we serve 14 locations throughout the Metroplex. And we are not a chain; every single location is locally owned and operated. We grew from that one auto repair shop in Plano into what we are today because we don’t just work on cars, we work for you, our customer. Our goal for each customer that walks through our doors is to provide the very best service and customer care we can so that when you leave, you are happy with your experience. Whether you are in for a routine oil change or something much more complex like transmission repair, we will give you the attention and professional service we have come to be known for. Our ASE certified mechanics are here to make your auto repair a hassle free experience and we will never pressure you to get work done you don’t need or want. That’s just part of the impeccable ethics we demand from all of our employees. We are here to fix your problem and get you back on the road, not sell you services you don’t need. You can be sure your repairs are done right when you come to City Garage.
