We are long-time customers who brought our "new to us" vehicle in for an inspection. After that, it was one issue after another. The day after we picked up the car from the inspection and some work that was needed, we completely lost the brakes in the car. We were told by many sources that if the car had been put up on a lift incorrectly, that the brake lines would be crushed. Had the car towed back, then we explained the situation. We feel that we are fair people and explained that if the mechanic made a mistake, we would gladly split the difference of the cost to fix the car. We understand that mistakes happen. We were told that the mechanic definitely did not make a mistake, and that we needed 4 lines replaced (2 brake lines, a fuel line and the other line in the same area). Cost to fix: $780. SHOP CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS SEVERLY DECLINED OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS: 1. Each and every time our vehicles have been in the shop, we await a call to let us know what is going on. Each time we call for information we get the same spiel from the customer service desk… “I was just going to call you…” – it’s hard to believe that since we are the ones who always have to follow up. 2. During the last repair, early in the morning we called and asked that the owner, Owen, call us to discuss the broken brake lines. That call finally came through at almost 4 PM, which was after the next issue that I am going to list (see #3). 3. Upon my arrival at the shop to pay for the work done on our vehicle, I walk in and Jim is bad-mouthing my husband to Owen. I stood in the lobby and continued to listen to the conversation without being greeted or assisted. Finally, I said to Jim – you do realize that you are talking about my husband. His response: was something to the tune of: your husband is accusing us of breaking something on the car and we did not. I explained that regardless, it is poor customer service to discuss another customer in such a manner when you have other customers in the lobby. At the end of the day, we paid the $780 to get the car fixed. THEN, two days later, while bringing the car downstate to our child at college, we noticed a strong gasoline smell. We brought the car to another mechanic, who upon looking at the car, showed us that the new gas line that was installed did not have a clamp. Apparently the $780 that we had already shelled out didn’t include a clamp. MORAL OF THE STORY is that we will no longer be customers of this establishment. There have been far too many errors from the mechanic team and they have horrible customer service. If I could, I would leave ZERO STARS.

I came home one day, got out of the car and heard a loud hissing sound. Ran around the car trying to hear where it was coming from. Finally discovered it was one of the tires. I found the spot and discovered I had run over a broken-in-half razor blade about 1/2" long. I figured there was no way to plug such a long, narrow slice and was in for a tire-replacement. I searched for tire shops near me and Richlonn's came up as the closest so I called. I told them the story and asked them if there was any way to get the car in ASAP. This was in the late afternoon, so I figured i'd have to wait until morning. They checked the schedule and said that they could fit me in in an hour. So i filled the tire up and quickly drove there and dropped it off. In under two hours later I got a phone call saying my car was ready. I asked what kind of tire did they put on... They said that no tire replacement was needed and that they simply plugged the hole. I was expecting to pay at least 100 and ended up only paying less than 25! With emergency service none-the-less! After this encounter, I always go to Richlonn's. I trust them to be honest and they never fail me or let me down. Everyone is always friendly and respectful and their prices are more than fair. Made an appointment for 8 am, when I called at 11:30 am, my car had not yet been looked at. I received a message around 2:30 pm with the inspection results. So 6.5 hours after appointment drop off. Tuffy completed oil change, tire rotation and rear brakes just before closing time at 6 pm. There are individual coupons for each service but a $30 cap is applied on discounts per visit. I may make two or three separate appointments next time so that I can use all the coupons. I had to bring the car back the next day due to a loud exhaust type noise. It turned out that the air filter compartment was not reinstalled properly so minor fix but still resulted in a return visit. I like the team at Tuffy and plan to return but some of the above issues should be improved upon.

I purchased a LS 4040 Tractor from Mike’s Repair Service. The tractor was brand new and fully covered under the warranty. After a few months of owning it, I noticed a small hydraulic leak on the right side loader ram hydraulic cylinder. The leak was coming from the welded joint. I also noticed hydraulic oil leaking from the right side rear differential. This was due to a lack of sealant at the manufacture I contacted Matt from Mike’s repair and told him about the problems. He stated that is was warranty items, and that it can be fixed. We discussed the cost of him coming from his store to my home to pick up the tractor as expensive. He then recommended that I try to find a friend or welder locally to fix the hydraulic leak on the ram. When I asked about getting a new ram, as it is a new tractor, he stated that LS will not replace the ram unless they try to fix it first. I told him I understood, but thought that was wrong. I tried to find a local farmer or company to weld the ram, but no one would touch it. They cited that it was under warranty and did not want to be held accountable if something went wrong. I called Matt back and explained this to him. He stated that he had a buddy that was a welder in Green Bay, WI, and he would contact him to have him come fix it. This is now nearly 6 weeks since I reported the leak. After waiting for nearly 2 weeks, I called Matt about his friend the welder. Matt stated that his friend had passed away a year ago, and that is why he had never returned his calls. At this point, I told Matt that I really need to get this fixed, and what was our next step. He explained that he would get with his drivers and see if anyone would be making trips up north that he could se t up a ride. Two weeks later, I had not heard from Matt so I called him back. I asked him if I could take it to Service Motors to have it fixed. Service Motors is a highly respected tractor dealer and maintenance shop. He stated that I could. The only things Matt told me, was that he would not reimburse me for any mileage I was charged by them to come and get the tractor, as that is not covered under warrantee work. I agreed and understood. I contacted Service Motors and spoke with Scott, the repair manager. They came and picked up my tractor. Scott called me and said they could fix it all, but the ram they would send out to a professional welder, as this was a high pressure cylinder. At that time I called Matt at Mikes Repair and relayed the information to him. I also gave him Scott’s number to Service Motors twice, to which he stated he would call. Service Motors called me to inform me that he never reached out). Once the repairs were fixed, I paid $1521.94 for all of the repairs and travel. I then submitted the remainder of the bill, $1334.94 to Matt and Mikes Service to be covered under the warrantee as agreed. Matt stated not a problem, and that it should take 2-3 business days to get the money back. One week later I called, since I had not heard from Matt. Matt stated that LS Tractors only agreed to cover about $300 of the repair citing that I was over charged. Matt and I got into a verbal altercation, with him stating “I never told you to take it to Service Motors, I told you I would have rather done the work here” This is a lie. After more arguing he stated that he knows I am upset, but do not call LS and report this to them, as they will not cover even the $300, if they found out that he did not do the repair work. This lead to a even longer argument. Matt then told me to hold on, and that he would call a “buddy” at LS and try to get more money. I then spoke with the president of LS as well as the sales distributors, who all stated that they have problems with Matt fixing peoples tractors under warrantee and that they would tell him to pay, but could not make him. On September 17th, I spoke with Matt and he stated that he would pay an additional $200 out of his pocket, in addition to the $330 from LS, but no more. Today he confirmed that I would need to do what I need to do, as he was not going to honor the work completed. Service Motors stated that there is no way anyone could have completed the work in the time frame that LS stated it had to be done, there is a 5 hour difference in time. Mikes Repair owes me $1334.94 for approved warrantee work on my tractor.
