I was there June 1,2023. This was much more than an auto tire replacement. It was an auto wheel, struts hub, knuckle, stabilizer bar, etc. etc. etc. replacement.! Jesse was very helpful and he’s an honest mechanic and he goes above and beyond to get the job done right!

I was just starting an RV road trip when my power steering pump quit. I was towed to Performance, and I could not have had better luck. They found a replacement pump for me and installed it, working three hours past their closing time to get me back on the road. Very thoughtful about the work and kept me informed as it progressed.

The Jag service was just my most recent work done there. I have been taking my 1974 Triumph TR6 to Andy for the past three years and had work done on the 2005 Altima of a student my wife and I help. I have always been nothing but completely satisfied with their work. Their rates are fair (below that of the dealer or lesser quality work done in other shops. I found their knowledge and work superior and there research to be thorough. I recommend them to anyone with both modern and classic cars, both American and foreign.

Brian is an honest mechanic and thats hard to find he tells it like it is no sugarcoating. If it needs fixed if he cant do it he knows one who can and will still get it done for you. Will never take my autos anywhere else

Ever since Chris bought the shop I've trusted him and staff to service and repair two new trucks and three used cars. All work is backed up and done right as if his children were going to drive it. We broke down in the middle of nowhere and had 20 minutes to search online for a repair place so our tow truck driver could drop us off. We were lucky enough to pick BSR. They were literally half the price of the competition, were very honest and friendly. They fixed our alternator and we were back on the road in less than an hour. Highly recommended.

We had a roadside emergency while traveling through Bakersfield. We found Scotty's Auto Repair on Google. We contacted him, told him the symptoms & he said he could and would look at it right away. Had our vehicle towed to his shop & he got to work on it right away. He is meticulous about his work, his estimate was very reasonable and accurate and even when he discovered another issue while working on our vehicle, he contacted us and proceeded to fix everything extremely well. His standards are high & will not do anything halfa**ed. Our final bill was very reasonable especially considering he worked well into the night to get us back on the road! I went over to Brandons truck repair for an oil change, little did i know that they have an excellent inventory in tires. I'm glad i stopped by i got low Pro 22.5 Bfgoodrich for a great deal, the tire manager provided an excellent service and great prices!!!!

This an older location, but welcoming. Setting an appointment couldn't be easier, and the staff is eager to meet your exact needs. Justin is an insanely busy man, but an excellent multi-Tasker, and the epitome of professional, a true machine. These guys are great. While traveling on vacation, I experienced a pan gasket leak, (just replaced by another shop in San Diego) and by chance pulled into this shop. I text a picture to Mike he said boy that’s an old RV in and I said yes it’s a 94 Sierra he said that those gears might not be available so he looked at his shop couldn’t find him and took two days and looked on the Internet I guess and found them had them in today great service would use them again on my new fifth wheel I’m getting rid of the 94Thanks Mike

I took my vehicle in for a power steering leak and was informed by Matt that the power steering hose needed to be replaced. I was told the few days I came in before the repair that it would take about 4 hours and I came prepared to be occupied as I had to wait for the fixture. I spent over $400. Upon leaving, Matt said I would be very happy with the work he did, which was cocky given that he has no way of knowing what my expectations are, and clearly untrue with the explanation below. Upon performing an oil change weeks later, I was informed the newly fixed hose was rubbing up against my engine belt and the nylon sheath was already worn through, with a subsequent indentation on the rubber hose itself. The staff kindly secured the hose away from the belt until I could take it in, which I did the next day. I was certainly displeased with the inconvenience, but said nothing to Mike, who handles the customers, about that. Without prompting, Mike offered a free oil change in compensation. When I requested an inspection following the repair, Matt had not replaced the hose but simply secured it away from the belt. What if that discovery had not been made and another leak, which was imminent, ensued? I called back 4 times, on the day of the securement, to request if I could simply get the monetary equivalent of the oil change (I would imagine it shouldn't exceed $50) as I had no confidence in Matt's capabilities or truth-telling, and all four times it went to the voicemail. Interesting. They were accessible every time I needed work done prior to that. If I was to rate Mike's customer service, I would give him a 5/5. Matt's attitude and work, a 1/5. So, I gave an overall rating of 2/5. I would not recommend their services to anyone.

i went to pep boys by my house, my husband has gone there for years. I went down and the service mgr helped me on purchasing 4 new tires and balance. I paid for and was scheduled to come back 2 days later as they had to order the tires from warehouse. I went in on a friday and it took about 3 hours... when i got home after getting my vehicle, i noticed my chrome caps were missing and i had 4 plastics caps on each tire. I just paid 670.00 for 4 tires and balancing and you switch my chrome caps for plastic ones. I called and spoke to service mgr and told him where's are my chrome caps........ He said come back in and i will give you a set. It's the principal of the deal. IT'S NOT THEIR DECISION for them to switch out, i brought my vehicle with them on i expect to drive off with them. That's just wrong.......

These half-as# 'Mechanics" are HACKS, I asked them to check for a coolant leak with my oil change, they said everything was fine. I took my car to a REAL MECHANIC & he said and idiot could see the coolant AND an oil line leaks. I think they just added more oil to my car & nothing else.

Do yourself a favor by not shopping at Auto Sounds of Bakersfield. Shop somewhere else unless you don't mind wasting a lot of your own time. First of all, this place is very busy, which in some cases could be a good sign. However, I believe in this case it is their downfall. Auto Sounds of Bakersfield’s showroom lacks any type of visual organization and it looks more like a warehouse than a place for customers to try out products. Even Auto Sounds of Bakersfield’s outside advertising billboard is broken with pieces of glass or plastic knocked out appearing long overdue for repair. How does Auto Sounds of Bakersfield’s lack of luster relate? Well, it should have been a red flag for me about the type of service I would receive as a customer at Auto Sounds of Bakersfield’s. While the staff are very friendly and appear to be very knowledgeable, don't get sucked into dropping your vehicle off on a Friday at 9:00am only to find out they don't even have the necessary parts to begin the install. Auto Sounds of Bakersfield’s ensured me not to worry that they would get started on the vehicle and once the part arrived at 11:00 it would be used to finalize the install. At 2:30pm, after calling Auto Sounds of Bakersfield, and not getting any real information whether the install was complete, I arrived back at the store to see for myself what was going on. I found my vehicle sitting untouched. When I confronted the owner's son he told me; " UPS is here everyday at 11:00, they must be running late, but when they get here we are ready to get the job done." As a customer, I asked why Auto Sounds of Bakersfield didn't track the package or call UPS since it was far past UPS’s regular scheduled delivery time. Auto Sounds of Bakersfield had no answer other than they were really busy and UPS delivery is beyond their control. Now working as the customer, I personally phoned UPS for Auto Sounds of Bakersfield to figure out why shipping was running nearly 4-hours late. In a matter of minute

Please Do Not Ever Go to this transmission repair shop, it is a nightmare. I went in thinking I was getting a decent deal on a used transmission, but once it was put in my vehicle has had more problems then what it came in with! These mechanics definitely did not know what they were doing and I have spent over 2000+ on just trying to fix this problem. To top it off the person in charge kept telling me that the transmission was not the issue it was something else, but they didn't know what. We had to take it to another mechanic in order to figure out what the problem was and guess what, it was a transmission issue that for some reason Economy Transmission couldn't figure out?? I wish I would have never came to this place and I hope none of you have to experience the horrible service that I have had to endure.

contacted them because my tint is bubbling. the tint was done 6/8/04, it has a lifetime warranty. i spoke to a man who said he bought the business a few years ago from his employee's father. said he would get back to me in a couple days, that was a couple weeks ago. have not heard from him since. the phone number is the same but no one answers. you can't leave a message, the mailbox is full. i will go back over there and leave another note, if no response i will file a claim with the BBB.
