If you're seeking an auto repair shop that epitomizes honesty, reliability and talent, J&L Auto Service is where you want to take your vehicle. Gabe and his team there have been a breath of fresh air to work with. These guys are highly skilled and knowledge mechanics who are able to service virtually any automobile there is. We at Merlin Auto Group are very selective about who we trust with the vehicles offer for sale. It did not take very long for us to recognize the value of having a relationship with J&L. Our experiences thus far have been positive 100% of the time which solidifies the truth that servicing cars does not have to be the challenging process that it can quickly become in the wrong hands.

I have never left a review for anything but I just had the worst customer service experience which included waiting 2 days to be contacted, being accused of stealing, being called a piece of shit and told to fuck off. This was an experience that other people need to know about. My check engine light came on in my 2007 BMW X3 so I brought it into Carma Motorsports since it’s down the street from where I live. I dropped off my car on Sunday night and left the key in the drop box. I called on Monday morning at 8:30 to confirm with them that they received it. I was told by Jennifer that I would receive a phone call after they had looked at it. After never receiving a phone call and trying to call all day, I stopped there at 6 and was told that the phone and internet was down and that was why I never received a phone call. They told me the phones and internet should be fixed in the morning and I would receive a call then, but that they only things that need to be fixed are the ignition coil and air mass meter boot. On Tuesday, I finally received a phone call and received a quote for $1,600 to fix the ignition coil, air mass meter boot, and that I also needed all new front and rear brakes. After waiting over 36 hours to hear anything, this was not good news so I called around to get a few other opinions since that seemed pretty steep. I ended up finding somewhere else that could do all of the same work for almost $500 less. I called Carma and let them know of the lower quote and asked if they could match it. After being told no, I said I was going elsewhere and that I would pick up my car at 6. After arriving, I was told that I still owed $120 for the diagnostic check to find out what was wrong. I informed Adam and another man with a shaved head (unfortunately I didn’t get his name) that I was not going to pay that since it took them so long to get back to me with anything and that what they quoted wasn’t even close to a good price compared to what I was able to find elsewhere, and because no one had told me about the cost of a diagnostic check when I said I was picking up the car. I asked if they had an issue with that and the bald man told me did have an issue because it’s stealing. I responded by saying that I understand that their time is valuable but so is mine. I will never be going back and I’m going to make an effort to make sure other people don’t either.

Took my car to have evaluated. I was told that my engine was bad and needed to be replaced. He said he would be swapp my engine out with a engine close to the same miles I had on my car. So I agreed to have my engine changed. This would have been a good time to tell me that it's only 30 days on a used engine. but he did not disclose this information to me. He went and got the car emissions done and told me he had been driving my car and it was running fine. Two days later and paying 4081.00 I pick my car up it seemed fine. I wasn't able to test drive the car because of Covid the DMV was closed. so it was close to three months until I was able to get a tag for car. I finally got the tag and drove the car, I noticed a pull from the car when I put the car in drive, it snatched into gear. I took car back and the mechanic RL adjusted something on the engine so that took care of the problelm. Still didn't informe me about 30 days for a used engine. I drove the car for two weeks and the car is surging and smoking from the tail pipe. I call R.L to tell him what's going on. He says bring the car in. I had a video of what was going on with the car. I informed R.L I got advice from another mechanic and was told this is because coolant is getting into the engine which point to a bad head gasket, and the surging could possibly be the air intake control valve and the problem was engine related Which R.L agreed that it probably was the IAC and he would have fixed it "IF" he knew it was bad He then suggested put 20 w 50 in the engine. I called another mechanic and told them what my car was doing and what advice I was giving from RL. And was told to ask for the paper work on the engine. I have not received no information on the engine he installed in my car to this very day. And putting 20 w 50 was not going to solve my issue. So I take the car back because of the surging and mind you it's still smoking. I also was getting water in the trunk so R.L looked into these issued and charged me 80.00.I was told by R.L that my Power steering rack need replacing and he would fix my IAC for aprox 1100.00 dollars. This has been the worst experince with this shop. My car is sitting unable to drive. I gave him ONE star because a rating was required. He deserves 0 stars. We'll end up in court I'm sure.

I had overheated my 96 Honda civic and the dealer wanted $800+ to repair it. I removed the head and took it to wills and they milled the head, pressure tested it and cleaned it. I did not elect to do a valve job at this time since the car ran ok. they only charged me $112 and were done in a matter of hours. After buying gaskets I reassembeled it and the car ran cool with no other problems. My total price only totaled $200 thanks to wills for the professional service and I an on the road again and could not be more pleased.

I read the tribe ratings after hearing several advertisements on KPOJ, and decided that I would go to Vincent, for an inspection and an oil change. What I left the shop with was much more — a spooky encounter with a service manager, who recommended that I not go on long trips, unless I pay more than $2500 for additional repairs, and an $800 whole in my wallet. I was seduced by Vincent website and progressive radio message. When I arrived I was awestruck by all the technical certifications and employee photos on the wall. The place looked humble, and the people were very friendly at 7 am. I dropped the car off and took the shuttle back to work, without incident. A few hours later I get a message to call them, the inspection had been completed. Turns out that my suspension is totally shit struck, I had a bald tire, and I needed a break job, because a caliper is broken and dragging. Now I’m no mechanic, heck, I couldn’t pick a break caliper out of a lineup, but that sounded pretty serious, so I had them fix it. I was then told they had the parts in stock and I could get it done by the end of the day, they would call me. At this time I was also “sold up” on additional services like a break system flush, a cleaning and adjustment on the rear brakes, and a transmission fluid change. My $99.50 inspection and $37.22 oil change had skyrocketed up to $800! They called me two hours before closing, and then told me that something wasn’t fitting right and that they would have to keep the car over night. I was upset, but what could I do? I got dropped off by my girlfriend, to pick up the car, and told her I that I would pay and be meet her at a local pub in a couple of minutes. It seems that I underestimated their respect for a customer’s time when I told my girlfriend to go on ahead of me and order me a beer, because I, with credit card in hand, could not simply pay and leave without a lecture in vehicle safety, and a hard sell on the urgency of restoring my entire suspension system to original factory specs (I have a lowered ride), FOR OVER $2000!

I was not satisfied at all with services from sales to finance. They were unfriendly, uncensored, and not knowledgeable. They would not care of the customer what he/she is saying. I would not buy or recommend this dealer to anyone. It was a very long process because they are out of this world, They're arrogant.

Hello, My name is Kim Dare. I purchased a 2013 Kia Forte in September of 2012. So far I have to say that I LOVE my Kia and have been very happy with it. I am, however, NOT happy with what just happened in regards to my tires. I went in for my routine oil change last week. When I came home and pulled in my garage my low air pressure light came on. I thought this was odd because I had just had my oil changed so I " assumed " that my air pressure had been checked in my tires. I got out and looked at my tires and they seemed ok. I then got back in my car and headed to the local Speedway to put air in my tires. Once I got to Speedway I got out and attempted to remove the caps that covered my valve stems on my tires. They would not budge...Not on one tire but on all four tires! I could not get them off. I decided that I would go home and have my boyfriend try it later. Long story short, he also tried but couldn't remove them by hand. It was late so I decided to try again the next day or so. On Tuesday, 9/8, I had taken a vacation day and was running errands. Once again I stopped at Speedway but this time I had a pair of pliars. The supervisor came out to try and help me and I finally got one to move....only to have it bust off with the valve stem needle stuck inside of the cap! At that time all of my air came out of my tire. Luckily this sweet young man at Speedway change my tire and put my spare on. Also lucky it wasn't late at night and I was able to take it to a Sunoco station near by. The attendant, Dave, also attempted to remove the remaining three caps but was also not able. I was then told that he has seen this before and that the metal caps had pretty much corroded on my valve stems. I was told that the new stem would cost me $88.00! He broke a second one, after spraying stuff on it and letting it sit, and that one also was $88.00. The third one he had to take a small torch to get off and the fourth he used another tool and saved it. Bottom line is that it ended up costing me $200 and 2 1/2 hours at a garage on my day off. When I called Jeff Wyler in Springfield Ohio to explain what had happened Ken, the manager said that Kia along with a few others were no longer using the metal caps because of this. When I asked if it was routine to check my air pressure during an oil change or rotation, he said yes. If the service department had been checking my tires the way they should have been, this should have been caught before it got this bad. It's very clear that they were not doing their job. Second, Ken said that it probably wont be covered and asked what I wanted them to do for me???? Really? This should have been a recall. It is a SAFETY issue Ken! I was unable to put air in my low tire in my car! If I would have been on a highway, if it would have been late at night, bad weather, etc, etc, I would not have been able to put air in my tire and it could have been a lot worse in a different situation. I am a single lady and I work hard for my money. I also had to use the money for my car payment to pay for this and then had to borrow money to cover that. This should have been addressed by Ken and reported to Kia. He said he would see if it would be covered but guess what?? Haven't heard back from Ken. What I would like is my money back. I have the receipt and will send you a copy. I would also like to see this issue addressed so that someone else doesn't have to go through this. I would also like to know that when the low air pressure comes on, a person can put air in the tire so that they can safely drive down the road. I would greatly appreciate it if someone would address this issue and contact me with their intentions. My email is kdare.1966@gmail .com. Thank you, Kim Dare
