Auto repair service near Southport, NC

Paid for a transmission service on my 2008 BMW 528i which was told would go the shift issues where my car was going into park at slow speeds…basically not knowing what gear to go into. It was due to no fluid and leaking pan which all were corrected. Then told at visit also needed a battery which I was unexpected but I replaced it too. Just took it back after calling only a day after getting it back with still shift issue. Told some codes were found and reset, and it was shifting fine. Same as first time I was told (passed quality check). Got in the car and again just as before and advised them, car shifted hard into higher gears. So either the mechanic knows nothing to which he’s talking or someone is lying about the work altogether bc the problem is not fixed and it doesn’t take but a drive to decipher it.

These guys are great at what they do. You can tell they care about you and that is what I look for when trying to find a shop for my baby. I brought my car in for a check engine light and some squeaking coming from the front of the car. They checked my car out and had a written estimate for me to review within an hour. I had them perform just the minimum to get by and they helped me prioritize the repairs so i can plan to have them done in the future. I feel safe and aware in my car now. I have been dealing with these guys for several years. I don't have to wait - they are usually there to greet me and take the car in immediately. They don't perform repairs so I get honest reports. Nice clean waiting area. Info is computer updated immediately and I get my tags practically next door without a hassle and within minutes of the inspection.

It was not easy to find a repair shop to repair the ABS (Anti Skid) system on my 2001 BMW. After taking this 20 year old BMW (my toy) to several repair shops in Wilmington including the BMW dealership service department, I was unable to find anyone that could repair the ABS system. Then I took it to East Coast Eurowerks and Cain said I can repair that and he did. Cain took very good care of my BMW and answered all of my annoying questions with a smile. Just wanted to let everyone know that if you need quality used parts for your vehicle, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!!!! They were extreamly courtious and professional and went out of thier way to get the parts I needed for my camper. When I need a used part this is the first place I check before going anywhere else. A satisfied customer!!!!!!!!!

I'm so happy I have Inter Shop to take care of my car. The car has run better since the very first service at Inter Shop and the cost of maintenance is less. I had been using the dealer and then AAA and both of them were more expensive. Also, Inter Shop does not try to talk me into getting things fixed before they need to be fixed, or try to sell me upgraded services that I really don't need. Because I was so pleased with my personal car experience with Inter Shop, I arranged to have my work vehicle serviced there, and saw the same benefits in cost and performance. Also, they diagnosed and fixed a problem with the work van that could have caused a terrible accident - and the problem was not a new one. Yay, Inter Shop!

It is wonderful to find a capable and honest shop for my Mercedes Wagon. They were also very fast which was most helpful during this holiday season!

My husband's antique 92 Porsche. They took 5000 to fix oil leak and a YEAR LATER, returned the car, no money, threw up their hands and said they cany do anything else. My husband is a self made mechanic, he has been fixing it himself. We have photo proof that these guys scammed us out of a lot of money. They didnt do work we paid for. A law suit is coming. This place is trash. The car returned to us much worse than when they took it in. Obvious when doing the work that they lied lied on top of lies. Cant wait to sue.

I have used Boney Radiator for many years with many vehicles. They continue to amaze me. On several occasions I have been to manufacturer affiliated dealer shops with poor results. I have taken the vehicle to Boney’s, they have properly diagnose the problem, and fixed it for considerably less than I would’ve paid at a dealer shop. The building may not be shiny and new, but the folks inside are absolutely the best in Wilmington at properly diagnosing automotive problems, making the repair, and they treat you right.

Mike and his crew have been reliable and trustworthy for my three years of visiting them. From their fairness on price to really caring about customer service, I will always continue to take my vehicles to Advanced Automotive.

I'll start by saying I' m a car enthusiast and always have been, but money has always been hard to come by. That being said, whenever I needed work done on my 240, why pay to have it done twice? I figure why not take it somewhere where it will be done once, and done RIGHT. I was in the shop during numerous dyno days and have listened to Jordan and Nick talk about every conceivable platform to a degree I could barely understand. John came and personally talked to me about the work he was going to do on my car before I agreed to anything. He explained every component in great detail beforehand and I had no qualms after that! After I came to pick back up the car, John came and talked to me again and told me of any issues he had, how he fixed it and even mentioned he cleaned up some loose stuff for free! There is no better speedshop in NC, or even on the east coast for that matter. Sorry for the long review, but these guys are top notch. Will definitely be returning.

Always honest, reliable and trustworthy. I'm with a non profit organization and he always does the repairs and inspections for our transport vans. Never overpriced and he is an all-around good guy!

My daughter took her car to 3 other shops and one frame shop no one could not find a problem. All her tires were wearing bad. I went with her to Tadlock and the service tech found the problem right away. The front end was off a little, but the rear was out by almost 3/8 of an inch. After they aligned all 4 wheels the car drove great with no pulling or excessive tire noise. Great work and friendly people. Will be doing business again.

I got my car fixed here and had to take it back to them 4 times for the same problem. They keep telling me there is nothing wrong with my car. But if there is nothing wrong with my car then why did they sell me a transmission rebuild?!?!? Do not go here! they will rip you off and not fix your problem!!

I took my car to Midas at 5526 Carolina Beach Rd., Wilmington, NC 28412 on Thursday, May 19, 2016 for an oil change and inspection, I came away with a dented hood and a horrid customer service experience. They claim they did not dent my hood and that it looked like someone had sat on it. It’s funny, the dent was “up.” It was from the inside… Looked to me like they may have accidentally shut the hood with something left on the engine block. The dent certainly wasn’t there before I took my car in. I had not even driven the car to any public places before noticing the dent and I live in a private area. So, certainly it wasn’t sat on as they claim. What really gets me though is the way they handled the situation. I went to the shop first thing Monday morning and was told the owner would have to handle it and that he would call me back later that day. There was no phone call. Tuesday morning came - no phone call, so I called them back again. I was told that he would call me back. Again, no phone call. Finally, Wednesday morning I stopped by the shop to see the owner, but he was apparently out. Made an appointment to see him personally Thursday morning (May 26th) at 9am and surprise, surprise… he never showed up! Instead two employees came out to take a look. This is where things really took a turn for the worst. I was belittled and told that I was a liar. In there “vast” experience of car repair no one had ever “accused” them of damaging their car. I was calm and collected about it, but they raised their voices and became very hostile and accusatory. It’s funny, because I went out of my way to go to that particular Midas because I was always happy with the customer service and their speed at getting things done. Their customer service (Ryan Hoffman) really took a turn when it was me asking them to make things right. He was really defensive and accusatory about the whole thing and really made me feel berated. I’m still waiting on a phone call from the owner to at least apologize or even acknowledge my situation, but given his track record of not caring about his customers I doubt I will ever get that phone call. I never even did get the owner’s name. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from Midas on Carolina Beach Road in Wilmington! They are disrespectful and dishonest! Now, I get to think about them every time I get in my car and the couple hundred dollars of damage that they did to it while it was in their care. I’ve filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, Midas Corporate and the NC Department of Justice.
