Auto repair service near Culver, OR

I was cleaning my car when my front driver seat wouldn't move back. I brought my car in and he checked it out and it turned out being a fuse, which was better then a whole motor for it. I do get my oil changed here as well. Dale and the other mechanics are nice and honest.

I had to take my truck to Jim 4 times and the forth time he refused to work on it.The first one I had to take back 4 times and he still never fixed it. The first time he said it was the clutch and replaced the clutch 800 dollars later it was still broken. The second time was to fix the noise he said was the clutch. I did some research and found out it was the input shaft bearing he replaced the clutch again and the input shaft bearing and that took care of the noise. However the transmission almost fell out of the truck because he put stripped out bolts back in. The third time I took it to him was because of the load clank every time I shifted because the transmission was almost out of the truck sitting on the ground. He didn't want to look at it but when he did instead of replacing the bolts he welded it into place. The fourth time I too him the truck was to fix the horrible wolbe in the drivetrain caused by the transmission not being installed correctly. I wasn't going to take it back to him but Les Swab told me to have him warranty it. He told me to take it down the road to another shop. At what point he had to goons get in my face and a shouting match occurred. I highly recommend not taking anything to Jim ever!!!! He is a crook and will do crappy work that wont last 2 months.

My car broke while I was passing through. I used to work as a professional mechanic but I had no tools and a carload of people wanting to get home to Olympia, WA. The mechanic (Greg, I think). Came out as soon as we limped in, dropping what he was doing to help us get it figured out. We were so glad to find a mechanic working on a Sunday afternoon (fact is I think he was there working on his own projects, but like I said he came right out to help). He has top notch tools including computer diagnostic tools, no trouble scanning my car to figure out exactly what was wrong and then testing the part to make sure the computer was right. Since i drive a newer car (2007 VW Passat) the parts weren't on the shelf anywhere but the nearest VW dealer, so we had to wait until the morning to get parts. He kept the car safely overnight and was on the ball first thing in the morning finding parts and had us on the road bright and early. The price they charged was more than fair. I don't know anything about other repair places in Prineville, but I know Sabin's is a gem! Bill C. Olympia, WA
