I've been coming here since when the guys only serviced Hondas (hence the name Japanese Beetle Shop, at least back in those days). They have service our 1997 (that's right folks) Honda Accord Wagon since 1997. Mike and Dave are the BEST. Fair, honest, quality auto repair. Reliable, on time delivery. I support our local independents. Even better when they provide outstanding service with a smile. Chat up a storm with Mike (I can call him Mickey) about his kids and anything else. Highly recommended. No frills but who needs your car washed and pickup service when you can TRUST the mechanic who works on your car?

Recently, the Jeep was stalling out when slowing or coming to a stop during heavy-traffic driving. Mark correctly diagnosed the symptoms and recommended replacement of the idle speed control motor. In the process of replacing it he found large amounts of carbon deposits which had to be thoroughly removed and did that work within the limits of his originally quoted price. Now there are no more stalling issues. Thanks, Mark. John R - San Mateo

When I had my Honda Civic, I would bring it here to be worked on. Will have the husband's CR-V serviced here whenever it starts running rough and he realizes it needs to be maintained. After I purchased my Acura TSX, told myself after a certain amount of miles I'll stop bringing it to the dealer for maintenance and come here. Well, when my service light came up with B14, I knew it was going to be a huge one in terms of cost. I called the dealer and sure enough they wanted my left kidney. I called Japanese Beetle and when they quoted me a price I had to ask again to make sure I was hearing correctly. I don't feel like I'm being taken advantage of because I'm female; Mike and Dave are honest and will let me know if they find something wrong ahead of time, not pressuring to get the work done at that time. Will continue to get my cars serviced here as long as they're around.
