On 11/13/2012 I dropped of my 2003 Ford Escape to Cape Auto Body & Service in Plymouth, MA to diagnose two cylinders that were skipping. Although I do 99% of my own mechanical work, I have been using this company for probably close to 15 years on the rare occasion I do need an outside service company. On 11/14 Cape Auto called and told me when the job was complete. They also told me my valve cover gaskets were leaking and needed to be replaced. I got the vehicle back on the 14th and worked on it myself on the next day to replace these gaskets. In doing so, I found the threads stripped for the #4 cylinder spark plug. I called Jim, one of the service managers, and he denied that they even touched this cylinder. Now for some background. First, I am certified for numerous brands of engines ranging from air cooled small engines to diesel engines rated at excess of 1,000 horsepower. I personally changed the spark plugs in this engine on Oct. 3, 2012 and torqued them as I always do for plugs going into an aluminum head. Usually when removing plugs set in my engines, I can easily do this with a 3/8” drive ratchet. When I needed to remove the “only two plugs” Cape Auto replaced, I needed to use my 1/2” drive ratchet because they were way over torqued!!! Jim claims that he worked with the mechanic on my engine the entire time and that the mechanic never touched any other plug except the two new ones. As I previously mentioned, I have been using this company for many years and have observed Jim (and the other service managers) these times I've visited. They do NOT hover over their mechanics doing their work. As a matter of fact, the desks they work at face the opposite wall of the service garage giving them no possibility of seeing the actual work being done unless they physically stand over their mechanic's shoulders. And, if Jim had been watching his mechanic closely, how did he let him/her over torque the “only two” spark plugs they claimed to have touched??? At this

Do do yourself a huge favor and do not go to King Philip Motors. I bought a vehicle from deal three months ago it’s been a nightmare dealing with him ever cents my first problem was the day I drove off the lot my truck started to overheat immediately I took the truck back in two days for a deal to fix it he did at no cost as it should be but his warranty is horrible 30 day warranty you pay half. But when I asked how much for the next problem he could not give me a estimate. I asked other mechanics and they told me this was a three hour job approximately $300 but Dale would not give me any idea. This was a problem. He could say anything after the job was done. He could say it took 10 hrs. I had no way to disprove this. But I didn’t have to worry because after dropping it off three times. Accidentally two weeks without my vehicle

Barry Roth and his team provided great service for my '98 M3 Cabrio for years. It was a perfect car, and they helped me keep it that way. When I decided to upgrade, Barry knew I wanted a Carrera 4 and located one for me a few months back. The car's in great shape, and the transaction was straight-forward, no BS, no extra charges, no hassle. Even though I have moved out of state, I plan to make the trip to Medway to have Barry's team service the Carrera and would recommend them without hesitation.

Neighborhood Wrench (NW) told me I needed an engine and assured me that my 21 year old car was "In pristine condition" and worth having it done, so I ended up agreeing to it. When I picked up my car, Doug gave me a invoice with extra parts that I paid for that were NEVER discussed with me and were working fine. Doug called me sometime later to see how my car was running. I thought that was odd, but I thought Doug was a nice guy too and I told myself he was just being nice and I assured him that my car was running ok. A few days later, my engine light came on and it started running horribly. I thought I had developed another problem with my car and I did not suspect NW had anything to do with it at that time. Some time after that, Doug called me again. The first time he called me I told him my car was running ok, so I thought it was really odd he was calling me again. I did not answer his call. I then discovered my car was misfiring on the #6 cylinder because they installed two #1 ignition wires on my engine, one on the #6 cap and plug that was also badly cracked. I had also put brand new plugs in my car right before I took my car to NW, and I also discovered that the plugs in my engine were burnt and rusted. They were not my new plugs. Have you ever had your car repair shop call you once after you picked up your car? How about twice? Is it possible that Doug was calling me because he was expecting my car to malfunction so he could have me bring my car back to him to “fix?" Doug said this is ridiculous. Is it? Doug wrote on my invoice that all new parts were put in the replacement engine, and he told me that all old parts in the replacement engine were removed before installation. They were not. Doug also told me that I needed a new radiator because it was full of rust. I looked in it after I found the cracked wire and rusted plugs, and it was full of rust. Doug told me that not transferring my plugs was “AN” honest mistake and that my car was running perfectly when it left their shop and I was “misinformed” if I thought that putting "wires" (one wire, not two, and badly cracked) in the wrong order would cause my car to malfunction after driving it for some time. It did! “AN” honest mistake is one mistake, not five: 1 They did not transfer my new plugs into my replacement engine. 2 They did not take the old parts out of the replacement engine and left the old plugs in it. 3 They installed an incorrect wire in the wrong firing order. 4 The wire was badly cracked. 5 They replaced my radiator because it was full of rust and it was still full of rust. Doug’s explanation in his own words for installing parts he never discussed with me: "Your upset that we replaced parts without talking to you, this was all part of doing the job properly so we can stand behind it." "your plan was to keep the car running as long as possible... as such it was the obvious thing to do." The OBVIOUS thing to do was to talk to me first! It is my car, my money, my decision, not yours! Doug replaced my clutch and tried to make me feel that spending $648.55 for clutch parts that has nothing to do with how the engine ran and was working fine, was a deal because he “only” charged me for parts. ONLY?? I had no idea if he did or didn't charge me labor as he did not list labor charges per parts installed on my invoice. After the Attorney Generals Office contacted Doug, he produced the breakdown of labor for my parts, and just as I suspected, he did charge me labor for clutch parts! NW charged me for a clutch, water pump, cap and rotor, gaskets, seals, manifold, thermostat, and I paid $1,031.75 for a fuel injector and bracket, all without discussing any of these with me. I think he saw me as an easy mark because I am a woman in my 60's, and he knew he was highly recommended to me and I trusted him. Doug wrote on my invoice that my replacement engine with “88k” miles was documented, but when I requested that documentation, I was told Rick must have done it as Doug didn't know anything about it or have it, but he could give me the receipt from the junk yard. When I called and asked him for the junk yard receipt, he told me he had “just cleaned house” inferring that he threw it away, and then ignored my other attempts to get it. He did send me the receipt after I sent him a certified letter, and the receipt does not indicate the mileage. Why? I would think that would be important information to add to the receipt. I was hoping that the new engine would increase my cars resale value, but without documentation, there is no proof that my engine has 88k miles on it, and it could have the same amount or more mileage on it than my original engine, and did he put this engine in my car? Where is the documentation? Doug is the owner and he was the one who gave me the bill. I am assuming he prepared it and or read it before giving it to me, and if they don't actually have any documentation, why was it written on my invoice? Does this constitute Fraudulent Business Practices? When I told Doug I would talk to Rick, I was told that I couldn’t because he doesn't work there anymore. Aren't they related? Can't he just ask him? Doug did reimburse me for my spark plugs and nothing else, but I now don’t believe I even needed an engine in the first place. Doug made a lot of money off of me, $5999.47 to be exact. See my photos of my radiator, my spark plugs, and the cracked wire that they installed on my engine on Yelp.

The owner has been servicing my car for about 15 years. Unless it was an absolute emergency and he was unavailable, I wouldn't let anyone else touch my car. He does a great and conscientious job, on time, for a reasonable price, and more than once has saved me significant money. As an example, I recently took my car to the dealer to have a malfunctioning (and wide-open) window repaired. (This is a case where it was an emergency and he wasn't available!) The repair cost hundreds of dollars. 5 weeks later the repair failed, and the dealer told me their repair didn't fail; it was actually a NEW issue that would cost me another big pile of money to fix. No thanks, I said and headed to S&W. Turns out the problem was a loose connection, an easy fix. S&W saved me $400! No question about it: I'd sent any and all of my friends to S&W to get their cars serviced. Dana S. Braintree, MA

The worst absolute worst place to ever buy a vehicle. The week prior to March 15, 2015, I began setting up an appointment with "Anthony / Tony" to test drive a car posted on the OfferUp site/app. On March 15 a Sunday I met with Tony and test drove the vehicle and questioned the obvious smell of antifreeze and the car was riding a little rough with a pull to the right. Tony assured me the antifreeze was a burn off and he would have his mechanic, Costy look the vehicle over to make sure it was ok. Once the papers were signed Tony told me I could not take the vehicle as he always has it double checked before it leaves the property. On Wednesday that week the 18th of March he finally returned my call to tell me the car needed a new tie rod and some other part. Both of which should be in and replaced by Friday. Friday came I had to wait as the car was not ready and was empty of gas. At this time Costy did my inspection WITHOUT my consent. He came out from the back told them I owed $35 for the inspection and I was free to go! I did not want them to do the inspection. I wanted to take it to MY SHOP WITH MY MECHANIC. This way I knew if it was rigged. Which it was. All the items that they check off 4 were bad and would not pass. I returned the car that Monday. The car full of gas, the gauge just fell to empty than floated back up. The RPMs remain at 1 when in park and float and rev on it's own. So much wrong with it. Costy calls me it's ready now Wednesday again. No it was not fixed. I almost slid into a guard rail as well. The alignment on the front was so bad when I replaced all the tires at Used Tire Warehouse in Wareham they fixed this alignment. Not even a month I have to replace and leave the car with mechanics. Three of the four tires had plugs all needed to be replaced. No buys a car for $5000 and pours $2000 into it immediately. The owner Salim "Sam" told me after wear and tear it is expected. I told him I had the car not even three days and it was back with him. I returned it 4 times and they couldn't find anything. I took it to my mechanic and before the machine for pressure was applied he told me "you definitely have a leak". Not 15 minutes later show me where it came from. He replaced it. I than took it to Kia of Dartmouth where Sam and Tony bought it, to do a recall from 2008, they noticed another leak from the manifold. I told Costy who told me he was quitting and that I'm not the first customer this happens to and he cannot take it anymore. This is not right. He told me, Jessika your a good person. The owner was now in Lebanon and Tony is forging titles with his name on them. I filed a small claims suit and now that it is the week of court, Salim takes off again out of the country. Stay the hell away from this place. Left me to tote my children in this ticking time bomb and refuse to refund my money. Other repairs required are in excess if $2000 and the fake warranty Tony made me pay $200 that covers "everything in the engine so they know you are protected the first 90 days". Well it doesn't cover ANY of these repairs. None, zero, zilch.

I've gone to Lube lab for years without any problems. On Monday my wife brought our 2006 Acura MDX for an oil change. After several sweeties, darlins and honies, they told her that her serpentine belt was damaged. Miraculously they had the serpentine belt in stock and they just so happened to have a time they could fit her in the following day. They would move some people around to fit her in. I promptly made an appointment with the Acura dealer to have the serpentine belt replaced. This morning the service adviser at Acura took a good look at the serpentine belt and laughed saying there was zero wrong with it. So Lube lab just lost a customer for wasting our time. Watch out women they will try and screw you. (without their aforementioned name)
