When I first called, it was to schedule an appointment to have a used car (a Lexus) checked out before I bought it. I spoke with the owner, who offered me advice on how to evaluate both the car and the dealer, and said he could accommodate my needs at any point that day or the next in regards to the inspection. I ended up liking the car and drove with the dealer to the shop. When we arrived, a mechanic immediately drove the car, then put it up on the lift to check it out. The owner came into the waiting room and asked me to step into the shop to look at the car with him. He showed me the undercarriage (which was essentially rotting away) and told me I absolutely should not buy the car. I was disappointed, of course, but so appreciative that the owner was not only up-front with me, but then didn't even charge me for the visit!!! I would absolutely service my car at Bay Diagnostic! This company failed to show up twice for me, costing me two half days of work, far more money than if I had just gone to a regular mechanic. The first time they said that they 'double booked' by accident, (the mechanic himself made the appointment on the phone) and I had to wait an hour before I could contact someone to tell me he wasn't coming. For a $600+ bill they offered me a $20 discount for my inconvenience. 3% discount. Geez, maybe I'll by a Big Mac! The second time, late at night after I was asleep, and therefore too late to reschedule the next day, I got a text message he wasn't coming for a 'personal emergency'. Not only that, but a week before he also tried to get me to do work 'on the side' outside of the company. This seems like a good idea, but in actuality, it is a farce, and you are far better off going to a real mechanic at at real auto shop. Perhaps the reason this particular mechanic is working this way and not at an auto shop is that he cannot hold a job in the real world. Perhaps my car and I are really lucky that this screw up happened, Perhaps y'all will read this a go somewhere else
