Dennis Hall's Auto Service took care of her as a lady in distress: Russell was quick, polite, attentive, thorough and comforting. As my daughter knew from my previous experience there, she got the needed service efficiently AND at a fair price. Thank you for treating my family, well...like family! THERE ARE STILL GOOD, HONEST MECHANICS OUT THERE! The service that we received during our visit to Jones Automotive was outstanding. David was the name of who we dealt with and he did an amazing job at handling our situation. We were driving through Tennessee on our way to Atlanta (and then onto Miami) from Michigan when our Jeep developed an intermittent shake coupled with the check engine light. We stopped in here to get an assessment of the problem, thinking that originally it may have been bad gas since the problem showed up right after a fill up. They pulled the code and took a look at the vehicle, they were able to determine the likely problem and also noticed the jeep was a quart low in oil. They told us, while the problem was important to fix, in their opinion we could still safely complete our trip to Atlanta that night and likely to Miami should we so choose. While he was confident that they would have been able to fix it, he didn't want us to be stranded so far away from our destination. He instead suggested we find a dealership to take it to as their turnover would likely be much quicker. When all was said and done they didn't charge us a dime for the assessment or the quart of oil they put in the jeep. Their honesty and excellent customer service was immensely appreciated, especially being so far from home. It is easy for shops like this to take advantage of out of state customers and we are so grateful that they did not. This experience is in stark contrast to the one we had in Delray Beach, FL after this, in which the shop did try to pull one over on us. We told the second shop what we were told at Jones Automotive. They ignored this and gave us a quote of over $4,000 for a completely different problem. The end result is that we shipped the car back to Michigan, had it assessed up here for the third time at a local dealership, where we were told the problem matched the original one we were told at Jones Automotive. Had we not stopped here first and had them look at the car, we likely would have believed the shop in FL and paid the outrageous price, but because of the honesty of Jones Automotive, our doubts in the second shop lead us to a savings of nearly $3,000 which includes the cost of shipping the car. Thank you so much again for helping us out when we really needed it, you guys are good people!

Outstanding service here! I'm a 22 year old female college student and I have had a lot difficulty with mechanics ripping me off in the past but once I got in touch with Aamco on Kingston pike and spoke with Danielle Gifford my mind was finally put at ease. Danielle is extremely knowledgeable and was very informative in sharing and explaining all the issues with my vehicle and there were a lot. Not only was her diagnosis accurate but her and her team of technicians did a superb job and worked very efficiently. After my car was inspected they concluded that I needed an entire new braking system and the same was told to me at the Firestone just up the road. However Danielle was able to order the parts and get my car back on the road in less than one business day just before the weekend. They saved me from having to spend more money on renting a car! Also they did a lot more for me for a lot less than Firestone. Daniel, the service manager, even provided and installed new hoses for me at no additional charge. I won't take my car anywhere else! Exceptional service and great management.

I paid for an alignment and struts on Saturn VUE, then had to take it back because they didn't replace the strut mounts and it was worse. The front tires quickly became bald between the time they installed the struts and when I returned for warranty, ( I should have realized the tires went bad because of their work), so I paid for new tires and asked about another alignment and was told they would take care of it. In three months the new tires, which were rated at 50,000 miles, were completely shot after less than 3500 miles. I took it back and the car sat in their lot for three days, (unlocked too!). They never called me so I drove over to discuss it, the new manager wasn't even there at 9:00 AM. There were only two guys in the shop, one working and the other just strolling around by the back. They ignored me until I said something, then refused to help, "it's above my pay grade", he said. I decided I didn't want them to touch the car and would request a refund - so I took the keys and asked for a call, never got a call. I drove my car to professionals. Apparently many mechanics around town know about this rip off. I was told that Ridgeway doesn't even own an alignment machine, and by law they have to ask permission before taking it off premises for repair, which was never done. I've really tried to give these "Christians" an opportunity to honor their work by making things right, but they won't even answer their phone or return calls. They should read Luke 12:58. Charging me for an alignment that wasn’t done and destroying both the original and also the new set of tires, combined with their behavior and the way they treated me - is a serious reproach on the name of the Lord. I already have an attorney working on this, all I wanted when I showed up after being ignored was a refund. This place really needs to go out of business to protect consumers. I don't want to give them even a single star but it won't let me post until I do. Perhaps they started out good years

Went in to troubleshoot a hop in the rear axle. Their people said the assembly was in need of a rebuild. This repair took two weeks after making a deposit on parts. Total cost was over $3500. In driving the vehicle after the repair was complete, a noise appeared which wasn’t there before. After reporting this to the them, I was told it was normal and it would go away. Never having heard of this condition after a differential rebuild, I thought it may be a vehicle specific normality. In contacting the manufacturer of the gear set, it was revealed that this in fact was not normal and the new gear set was destroyed as a result of improper installation. Their management informed me that they were too busy to look at it at the time. After several weeks, I was able to get an appointment to have them check the assembly. The vehicle sat at their shop for 3 weeks before I was able to get anyone from Ace transmission to answer their phone or return a call. I was then informed that they couldn’t fix it and that 26% of the total cost would be refunded. 2 weeks later the vehicle was recovered from their shop still not repaired. This “repair shop” effectively deprived me of my vehicle for the nearly the entire summer, cost me hundreds of dollars in alternate transportation on top of the $3500+ repair bill, and the vehicle still isn’t fixed. I found out too late that I wasn’t by any means the first victim. Someone I randomly met (yes, randomly met) on a job site described a similar issue with Ace transmission. After they get your money, you’re on your own. If you value your money, the safe repair of your vehicle, and your time, don’t go here.

Had brakes done awhile ago and got the warranty on the pads. Now i need new pads so i took it in to budget brakes just to learn (or be told) i needed my rotors machined. And the total for it all to be done was about close to $180.00 to $200.00. Well i told them i didnt want to do the rotors n they said they cant honor the warranty fir the pads unless they machine or replace the rotors. I wasnt aware that i get new pads with warranty just to still end up having to spend more then what it cost to have the pads put on the first time. Whats the point of the warranty if i still have to spend lots of money for something i cant use unless other services is going to be needed done that would cost more money then just having new pads put on. I ended up just going to auto zone and buying “NEW ROTORS” and “NEW PADS” for $111.00. A lot cheaper then what budget brake seems to try to scam me out of. Bottom line is they warranty seems to be a scam

followed up with owner as a result of an encounter he had today with my son who parked in the wrong lot. A note was left on our windshield, and the owner proceeded to express their anger and displeasure by physically pressing his chest into my son, holding the car door closed and then standing in front of the car as to attempt to not allow him to leave the lot. The assistant manager had to come out to encourage the owner to stop the aggressive behavior. My son called the police who followed up. When I went to follow up with the owner to determine the facts and a possible resolution I found the owners responses and insults consistent with someone who made a mistake and didn't want to admit it. This tells me and others alot about the owner and the business he expects people to patron. My advice is to consider other shops like CBA Christian Brothers Automotive a few doors down on Kingston Pike. I have done business there several times and your treated with professionalism and respect. Choices have consequences and since I was treated with the same behavior as my son was I felt compelled to review. Try CBA Christian Brothers Auto you'll have better results with less drama.

7:00 AM - 6:00 PM

3725 Cunningham Rd, Knoxville

Halls Service Center has lost my business. I went to Halls Service Center and asked them to check only the code from the car's computer, a job that takes literally less than ten seconds. Places like Firestone do it for free. But when I came to pick up my car, they wanted to charge me ninety dollars because they had done a full diagnostic scan on the engine including a test drive. When I explained that I had asked for only a code check, I was told that they don't do just a code check, only a full diagnosis. If that's true, then they should have told me at the beginning instead of charging me for a service that I did not request. I tried to get things worked out with a manager, but before even listening he told me that he wouldn't consider waiving the fee because he was already convinced that his garage was in the right. The man at the counter claimed that I never said that I only wanted the codes checked, and the manager said that the mistake was 100% my fault because I hadn't double checked about what was written on the order or asked about the price. He was right--it certainly was my mistake to trust Halls Service Center to perform only the services that I asked for and to trust that they would charge me a fair price for it. My conversation with the manager was calm and outwardly polite, but he ended up implying that I was just too cheap to take care of my car the way I ought, and the guy at the counter made it clear that he thought that I was lying and trying to cheat them. Eventually, the manager threatened to lock up my vehicle and start charging a $25 a day storage fee if I didn't pay up, which I eventually was forced to do. Even though I have used Halls Service Center several times before, I'm not going to take my business to a place that doesn't have a problem with a customer leaving feeling like he's had money twisted out of his hand.
