Auto repair service near Brownsboro, TX

Waited about 1 year to post results as I wanted to see if trans. held up. Transmission was sliping in overdrive which is common with 1/2 ton 4l60e. Hammond trans. service added upgrades to transmission when rebuilt. Had shifting prob. within first few days and took back. They ran test and determined it was my throttle position sensor which I corrected and it fixed the problem. It had nothing to do with the rebuilt but identified the problem without charge. The transmission has been great since rebuild. I would definately use or recommend Hammond for any future rebuilds. They are established and will stand behind their work as opposed to some low cost trans. shop that will not be there when you have problems or want to charge way too much. Hammond trans. in my opinion is a good honest place if you need trans. repair.

Liars and crooks! Went to get a tune-up on my 15hp Mercury (which was running ok ... just wanted to get tweaked before heading up to Caddo) ... and was told would cost $135 plus parts .... ended up costing me $580! $408 was labor! A far cry from $135! I know now where NOT to go in East Texas to get my boat worked on! A snake in the grass kind of business! STAY AWAY!!!

I just want to say what an awesome blessing one of your employees was to me yesterday! I was using my spare tire on my car in place of a bald tire. Was waiting for payday to come so that I could get a new tire. In the meantime, I had a good tire go flat. I had to use the bald tire as a spare to get to Discount tire to get the flat fixed. The salesman asked if I wanted to go ahead and get the new tire on the front. I told him I could not do that and was coming back on payday to get it. When the young man came in to tell me my car was ready, he said they fixed the flat and put on a new tire on the front. I panicked, thinking maybe the salesman had misunderstood me. There was no way I could pay for the tire. I told the young man that I didn't ask for a new tire. We went back in and the salesman explained that the spare tire was so old and cracked that it was not safe. He had given me the tire they placed on my car. I was completely shocked! He said he would rather me be safe and not have a blowout, and a wreck, so I could come back to buy more tires. I know he cannot possibly imagine how great a blessing that was to this very broke teacher, but you will have my business always! Everybody is always so friendly and helpful there, and now have shown that they are also caring and helpful. Thank you so much!

My husband and I got stranded in texas momentarily while on our cross-country trip and got towed here for repair to our vehicle. We were greeted warmly and our car was taken care of within a couple of hours so we could hit the road the same day. The waiting room was cool and had a TV. The folks at the front desk were cery friendly and chatted with us for a while as we waited. Overall a pleasant, no stress, reasonably priced experience. Don't think we will ever be though, but wanted to pass on the word that they deserve your business.

We spent over an hour getting our car washed and cleaned, the most expensive service they offer. My husband had used them in the past and had quick, good service. NEVER AGAIN. I do not know how they were rated best in Tyler! To top it off, we were leaving Tyler for a 2 day visit with family, and when they finally finished the car it would not start. They evidently left the key on or something; they must have realized this mistake because they were quick to give us a jump off for the battery. Needless to say, we were late to our appointed time. Thankfully the battery gave us no trouble after that.

My mother took her Lexus in to have the air repaired. When Climactic air returned the car, they had destroyed her dash. They left dirt and grease all over the seats and the headliner, and they also damaged the center console. We have taken the car to get estimates to have all of the damage repaired and all of the body shop technicians have said, "How did this even happen?" It almost looks like they took a screwdrive and pried the dash off to get to the a/c. There are at least dozen small gashes surrounding the air conditioner, radio, etc. I wonder why they didn't stop after they made the first gash, when it became apparent that they were damaging the car. Our estimates to replace the dash and center console are higher than the cost of the a/c repair. The owner, Chuck Durett, did assist us with getting an estimate for repair (vs. replacement). However, Mr. Durrett has not contacted us again about how he is going to facilitate and pay for this repair. Incidentally, we have been told that repair will never restore the car to its original condition. If this matter gets resolved and Climatic Air does the right thing and pays for the repair of the vehicle, I will post an update.

I lugged my newborn baby and 2 year old up to the desk and read the sign saying they will not take debit or credit cards for an inspection. I did not realize this when I drove up, otherwise I would not have gone in because I did not have any cash. I waited patiently for my turn and simply asked if they would make an exception. I was met with a curt "no." I understand that they probably make no money on these inspections if people pay with a credit/debit card, but I was hoping they would take pity and make an exception for a young mother with 2 very little children. They should put something on their road sign about not taking debit/credit cards so as to save people like me time getting 2 young children out of their car seats and then right back in again only to have to go elsewhere to get the inspection because they will lose a few cents in credit card fees. I will never go there again and will discourage others as well.

Do not buy a car from these people, I have been through HELL with the car I bought. Power steering went out twice in a month of buying it. The second time it made my care literally catch fire while my son and I were in the car. He put a faulty piece on my car, which caused the fire. He then did not replace anything that was burnt after taking it to him. They may seem reasonably priced, but tit will just make you have to keep going back. I can not drive this car, because now the timing chain is out, and they will not help at all with fixing it. He sold me an unsafe car, when he promised it was safe. I have reached out many times seeing if they will make things right and help me out with fixing it and they refuse.
