Auto repair service near San Antonio, TX

I went here because my door latch was broken and my door wouldn't open. When I told the mechanic all he did was pull on the door and handle(which wouldn't open of course) and decided that the problem was the motor in the door. He charged me over $200 and made me wait for five hours before they finally called and said that it was the door latch and he needed another $100 dollars. We said forget it and when we picked it up they didn't even clean off the grease marks they made of over the inside of the doors and window. AND MY DOOR STILL DIDN'T OPEN! We called again to have them fix the botched job and they said they were going to charge $50 JUST TO OPEN THE DOOR TO LOOK AT IT! DO NOT go to this place unless you want to be ripped off by half-ass mechanics. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

Believe car should have not been repo for late payment of remainder of down, a late charge could have been added not the drastic measures Nancy took. My son had problems with paycheck not making enough last week due to rain and not working all days that week. His phone was off and he was out of town working so he could not call anyone. I had heart surgery and didn't know what happened. I tried my sons ph. and it was off when nancy called, i told her very quickly his ph. off and I didn't know where he was working, i would get back with her. yesterday I got call when car was repo. I tried talking to nancy and she didn't care to hear anything, so I asked to speak to you. nancy said, she didn't care who I speak to she is not excepting payment and not giving car back. That's not wright for us to give all that money and for the car to be taken with out working out issue's .so HUGO REZA PLEASE CALL ATLEAST TO HELP RESOLE PROPLEM WE WOULD STILL WANT TO CONTINUE PAYING PAYMENTS FOR CAR.THANK-YOU MELISSA C

Shame on Pep Boys….Scammers and thieves… The Pep Boys at 830 Military Dr. in San Antonio, Texas,are full of lies and deceit when it comes to servicing your tires. Your boss, Pep Boys President, Mike O’dell knows about this and will not get involved. So I now have to get rid of these tires via the net. I am starting with Ebay. This is how I cam about selling these sCrap art tires; Today I visited your Pep Boys location at 830 SE Military Dr. in San Antonio. I needed this visit to correct a vibration problem that was felt on my 1995 Mercury Mystique. This has been an on going problem since mid 2010, yet I was not made aware of this until recently from my brother. I entered the service department and was greeted by service advisor Johnny (I soon come to find out he is the manager, He did not portray the position). I explained that I had a vibration that was getting worse daily and would like to have the balance checked since I had the lifetime balance. Johnny proceeded to write up a service order, he then walked out to my vehicle looked at the driver side front tire and he came back into the service area stating to me that the tires were almost worn out and they needed to be replaced. I felt this was odd since he just looked at 1 tire, so, I asked what the tread depth was; he stated 3/32”. I then questioned him as to what was causing the vibration; being sarcastic, I asked, is it the air? Again, he stated that the tires are worn almost to the point of being illegal, which is 2/32” (a scare tactic to make a sale by instilling fear into the customer) At that point; the service technician was bringing my vehicle into the bay. My vehicle was lifted into the air by this technician after he performed an inspection in the engine compartment. While in the air the technician also jerked on the front suspension, apparently to ensure there were no loose parts. I asked Johnny to inform the technician be careful when removing the hubcaps since 1 hub cap was cracked on the l

I went to this establishment and the tech's there where to conduct an inspection of the vehicle. Never once did they honk the horn,check blinkers, windshield wipers or brake lights. They popped the hood looked at the engine for a while and walked away for a long period of time then came back with a sticker. My complaint aside from the violation of not conducting the state required checks on my vehicle is. I feel that this establishment purposely messed with my truck while under the hood. It has under 39,000 miles on it and had no engine noise what so ever prior to my visit at this Midas however now it accelerates horribly and is rattling and whistleing in the engine compartment. When I called to discuss with the owner he did not want to state his name and of course denies any wrong doing. I would stay away from these crooks. BEWARE..I only give them a one rating because you cant rate a zero on this site.

I took my daughters Rav4 in for service before she had to drive back to OKC. They said it needed shocks which I approved. They also suggested getting the headlights defogged, cabin filter replaced, air conditioner checked, etc. Normally I don't do this stuff at the dealer but since it was there already and my daughter needed to get on the road I approved the work. 6.5 hours later it was finally ready. I paid the bill and was reading the receipt while waiting for the car to be brought up when I realized they did not do the shocks. I just paid $350 for all the miscellaneous crap they talked me into and they didn't do the work I initially brought it in for. The service writer said they did not have the shocks in stock. I told him that he should have called me and I would have picked up the car and got my daughter on the road 6 hours earlier. He said he forgot. I spoke to "Bud" the manager and after telling him that my daughter had to get on the road immediately, he offered to order the shocks and discount the labor when they got them in. I suspect he only made the offer because he knew we couldn't take advantage of it. I am usually pretty sharp about smelling a rip-off but this one slipped by me. I got stung for $350 with a classic bait and switch. I would not trust Alamo Toyota to check the pressure in my tires. I can only assume a similar experience awaits those who buy cars there as well.

I bought a VW from George's that was supposed to take two weeks to get ready while the "engine was rebuilt". It wound up taking almost two months. The engine died on the way home. After he supposedly fixed it, it still kept stalling and not idling. When I complained he told me that the car was sold with no guarantees and to fix it myself. I got less than 1000 miles on the engine before it blew. When I called George he told me that I could pay him to fix it. When I explained how he sold me a car with a new rebuilt engine he told me tough luck (in so many words). After paying a premium price for the car I wasn't about to take it back to George. I wound up taking it to another shop in San Antonio that has a much better reputation. He disassembled the motor and showed me how it had not been rebuilt and in fact was just a worn out motor that George tried to pass off as a rebuild. I have no idea how he has maintained a 5 Star rating. If you don't believe my review please call and talk to the folks in the VW club as well as various local VW auto parts stores. George's Buggy Shop is infamous. On the plus side his sons seem to be nice kids. I had to fix the repairs they made anyhow myself. At least they were well spoken and polite. So is George until you want him to back up his "work". I've owned over 70 air-cooled VWs, managed a large air-cooled VW parts warehouse, and have worked for VW of America. I've never run across, what I consider to be, a bigger crook than George's Buggy Shop.

Had been highly recOmmended but when I got my car back power steering was still leaking and the car didn't feel like anything had been done. When taken back they tried to tell me the power steering wasn't leaking it was the transmission. My transmission was fine. He wanted to sell me a car he was selling instead of fixing mine.

He will charge you and not do the work. He will paint parts and puts them back on and calls it a C3 so the client don't know about he will rip you off if you don't watch him. Lee Mejia is the owner if you want a good job done talk to his Maine mechanic Lupe and take the car to Lupe's house for a good job.

DO NOT take your car to Fernando Gutierrez! He used to be so fair & honest. He always seemed to give me a good price & quick service. He seemed to actually care about his customers. But lately, over the last year or so, he has changed. The last couple of times I took my car to him he couldn't figure out what was wrong even after driving the car with me and my pointing out what it was doing wrong. But I still gave him the benefit of the doubt & recently took my daughter's car to him to fix a broken axle. He charged her $484. After the repair it didn't feel right & she took it back the next day. He said he looked at it, drove it, and couldn't find anything wrong. Again he wanted to drive it with her for her to point out what she was feeling even though she felt this should have been obvious. She took her car to the Ford Dealership where they immediately found that the axle was installed incorrectly, the front wheel was loose and wobbly, & the motor was resting on the frame! A screw was inserted crookedly, stripping the threads in the axle assembly. The wheel was damaged beyond repair from the loose lug nuts. She could have been killed if she had taken it on the freeway! The wheel would have flown off! He refuses to admit any wrong doing even though he let it slip that he did not do the work or look at it himself. He refuses to give even a partial refund. The repair cost at Ford is $2800 + tax to fix the damage he caused by his negligence. She could have been killed! And all he could say was, "I don't know what happened. Bring it back to me and I'll fix it right this time." He already had a second chance and didn't even look at it. Who, in their right mind would take it back to him again????????

I wish I could give Lee's motor co zero stars, one is too good for this cheat of an owner. I brought my truck in to get a leak in my oil pan fixed. it took 8 days to get my truck back the first time. a day after receiving my truck I noticed it was still leaking. under closer examination I found that one of the bolts holding the oil pan was stripped and would not seal properly. I brought my truck back a second time, Lee assured me it would taken care of. over a week went by without a call or update. I had to stay on top of him the entire time. I got my truck back the second time, and what do you know, its still leaking! brought it back a third time. this time around my car has been with them for 15 days! I had to call them again just to get updated on the progress of my car. I was told they couldnt get too it and it would be a few more days! UNACCEPTABLE! I asked for my money back so I could take it else where and I was simply told "no" I would not be getting my money back and he would continue to try and fix my truck. if you decide to take your car to lee, prepare to get a rental. because they WILL take their time. this has been the worse experience ive had with a machanic and this nightmare still isnt over. lee, you are a waste of time and money.
